WHY DON’T WE TRUST POLITICIANS?

Everything has started with elections.
We have been promised by the candidates in each electoral campaign that once we vote for them, they are going to fix our problems, improve the unemployment. Lower the taxes and so on..They lure us with beautiful words and promise us everything we want to hear to gain our support for them.

And the same story happens after time, election after election. This is the main reason why eventually people stop trusting politicians.

Almost two thirds of young people have little or no trust in politicians. Three quarters of those surveyed also said political parties didn't keep promises once they were elected.

We elect government officials to uphold the interests of their constituents and for the common good. Hopefully, the politicians will have the same interests and moral values as the people they represent, but somewhere along the way the politicians get their priorities mixed up and forget what they were elected to do. After a politician has promised the voter the world “on a table”, he is basically free to make decisions and vote as he sees fit, regardless of opinion polls. In fact, politicians are probably more interested in what the lobbyists have to say than their own constituents. This means accountability is really what is at the core of the issue here.
Perhaps the biggest fear we have as voters is political corruption, and the temptation to become such can be irresistible to even the best of us. Far too many politicians have become exceedingly rich and powerful due to kickbacks in support of lobbyists.

Questions:
1.      Do you trust politicians? Why/Why not?
2.      Do you go on elections?
3.      Do you think that voting in elections is important ? Is it change anything?

  1. I don't trust politicians, because many of them want to just money. Popularity seems to be more important for them than normal people. If you don't know somebody as your friend, it's hard to trust him. I'm not sure if I'll go on elections. It's a pity, that it's impossible to vote online (or maybe I don't know about it) - I work tomorrow and I must learn too, so it's not so easy find time. Additionally I don't really feel, that it can change a lot. Voting in elections is important, but it depends on a type of it.

  2. I don't trust politicians. Most of them want to have power and money. They argue with people from other party, but only a little focuse on real politics. Of course, there are some of them who know how to change that situation, but they are in minority.
I go on elections.I think that it is important to show our opinion, but usually we have to choose "the lesser evil"

  3. Well, I don't trust them. I seldom think about politics, but even though I often hear about the mess they cause. I think that it's ridiculous how it works. Why couldn't educated people be in charge instead of some villagers? I try to be at the elections, but often I have the feeling that it's just choosing the smaller evil. Yes, I think it DOES change something. But social iniciatives are more significant.

  4. It is sad but we can't trust them. We know how politics pervert and that having authority and money change people. Of course we need to have some representatives but it is hard to decide who is the best choice for our country. I had my firs elections his Sunday I think that this is my prerogative and duty as well so we should be responsible for our country. But also I think that if we can't see any good choice it is hard to vote.

  5. Well, I don't trust politicians, because they just want to get high, to be someone important. They will do everything to succes, so lying is normal thing in politics. I go on elections, because I care about this country, but in my opinion voting doesn't change anything. You are one person in 40 million people country. One doesn't change anything but it's important to vote, because you know you are doing something. You aren't just sitting at home.

  6. Frankly speaking, I do not trust politicians. I do not hate them but I cannot find the reason why I should trust somebody who renege on their promise. Before elections all of them say that our life will become easier if only we vote for them. Even though we know that it is not going to happen, we feel somehow disappointed to see what they do when they win. But it is also our fault – would you vote for someone who says that they will make you pay more taxes and work harder even if it were for the greater good? In this case politicians have no choice but to say sweet lies.

Unfortunately, I cannot say that I vote in the elections. Elections for European Parliament were the first I could take part in. Unfortunately, I couldn’t come back home this weekend so I’ve lost my chance to vote. I know that there are some regulations that enable me to vote outside my hometown yet the situation was rather unexpected and I had no time to go to the local government for a certificate.

Even though I didn’t vote this time, I believe that it is important thing to do it. Those who do not vote shoudn’t complain about politics because they did nothing to change it. Although often we can only choose the lesser of two evils, we should not ignore it. Some people think that one vote doesn’t change anything but if you take million people who says so, you will notice that they would be very powerful if they were active.

  7. I do not trust politicians, especially politicians in our government. It is easy to see than nearly none of their promises turn into truth. What is more their actions not only do not support statements from campaigns but also often stand into opposition to them. For example PO dreamed about cheap polity and create so high public debt that they have to whip OUR 153bilions zloty from OFE. Furthermore a lot of their slogans are just rubbish. There is no way that you can rise minimal wage and reduce unemployment on the same time (although most of young graduated people emigrate to work in West Europe). I didn’t go on election but only because I had forgotten to take necessary documents from place where I am registered and I wasn’t able to vote. In my opinion voting in elections is significantly important. For example in recent elections The Right (not only in Poland but also in all Europe) got unforeseen high score. Near 200 from 766 MEP are right-wingers before it was less than 90. It is a stamp that people need changes and election is only way to show it.

  8. Of course I don't trust the politicians. It is really difficult topic especially in Poland. I am annoyed when I hear something about Polish politicians. I don't know who choose these people to lead our country. But for me it is incredible how people can lie! A few days ago we had election so we could hear many words from our politicians. Many of them said about things on which they don't have any influence. So I don't know how people can trust them?

  10. It's hard form to comment on this topic, because I am a person who is completely not interested in politics. This is due to various reasons. First of all, I simply don't have much free time to deal with all these complicated issues, which need a lot of reading to understand them. Secondly, politicians discourages me, I believe that these are often random people who should not take the power in the state. But on the other hand, I don't ignore politicians. I vote in the elections, I know the politician groups and election programs in the basic version. I think that if someone does not vote in elections, he or she doesn't have the right to criticize the government.

  11. I’m not sure they deserve it, because their actions are largly led by expediency. This is the main reason why I’m not worried about trust and politicians. I couldnt find a candidate that I would really support in the last election. So, I didn’t want to give a credit to someone who stinks imho.

  12. I read your opinions and comments and i'm not shocked but deeply touched that most of all don't trust politicians. They are our representation and it's quite obvious that we should trust them. In fact, they are simmilar to machies. every politician has something from populist, they are talking postulates which we want to hear. maybe our distrust arise from fact, that they are not doing things which are helping people. we feel that they are not with us, that they are not supporting people. I vote in elections, but it's really hard to find the best politician who is covering my point of view. I think that it could change something, but it depends on our politicians. Frankly, I hate it, when somebody is criticizing our goverment, and in fact that pesron is not attending to elections.

  13. Firstable, we shouldn't generalize and throw all politicians into one bag. There are politicians who we can trust (to some point) and some who we can't trust. But in my opinion most politicians in governments around the world are just fingers to vote. They are exploited by the leaders of political parties or whips. The real problem in the world of politics are lobbyists and money that comes with working with holding companies. But this is just the world of politics. That doesn't change the fact that voting is important. If the turnout is high then the voting is more credible and there is less unhappy people.

  14. I do not trust politicians. In most situations they think only about money - not about people who vote for them. They are able to promise a lot of beautiful words but cannot do what they should. In fact, there are some people in we can trust, but in the most situations they has not got possibility to get a chance.
I always try to go on election. I believe that I have something to say about politic and situations in my country.
I think that voting in elections is important. And it can change everything. People does not go on elections, because they think that no one cares and it does not matter if they go or not. It is not true.

  15. Of Course, I don't trust politicians. In my opinion marioty of them wnat to only earn money, not to change our country. Even If politic wants to do something good, he must have a big money to be more common. And even If he gets to the goverment, sometimes the political party dictate how to vote. It is terrible. Despite of this I try to go on election. For me it is the lesser of two evils. If people don't vote, they can not any claim to politicians. Even You don't have any candidat, You can give invalid vote. Unfortunately I didn't go on election to the European Parliament. I didn't have enough time.

  16. In some cases, i really trust politicians. Of course not all of them, but a lot of politicians are experts in their area. Since i am able to vote, i went to everysingle voting. For me, voting is very important. When you vote, then you can blame politicians, and be mad at them And when you are not voting, you can't say single opinion, becouse instead of going on election, you prefered to sit at home.

  17. I don't trust in anything that politicians say because behind every of their words there is business to make us wanting to vote for them, even if they are talking about really stupid things. I don't take a part in elections, because it changes nothing. I would go to vote for somebody if I had someone to choose from.

  18. I take part in voting every time. I think everybody have to take part in this fantastic holiday od democracy. If voting really change something? I thing yes. To be honest for example if we talk about voting to european parliament there took part rather just intelligent people. only 22% of Poles so if any gropu would like to do something they could. Unfortunately I do not trust politicians very much, but I hope in the future we will have better goverments =)

  19. Questions:
    1. Do you trust politicians? Why/Why not?
I can say I don't trust politicians but my my participation in the voting seems something other. I think we try to trust politicians because we are looking for way to make our lifes and country better, but all in all we are dissapointed.
    2. Do you go on elections?
Yes, I do. For me going on elections is a civic duty.
    3. Do you think that voting in elections is important ? Is it change anything?
If we think that our vote is nothing and can;t change anything we will staring at the same place for years. I think only people can change something in these country but we must remember thata these people are you and me.

  20. I don't trust politicians, they always say what we want to hear and that's it. I don' have a favourite political party but I know which is my last favourite and I always go to elections to stop it and don't let it take over. I am not really interested in politics but sometimes when I watch Parliamentary debates they make me lough and I cannot believe that these people govern the country.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
