 Tennis

Tennis is one of the top 5 most popular sport in the world, but is the most popular individual sport. Tennis can be played between two single players or two teams of a pair of players each (doubles variant). It is a sport which is equally popular among men and women. Lawn tennis is a very high paying individual sport - individual players have made more than $40 million in a year alone. Tennis is a fascinating game as well as exercise. The fact that there is no fixed time limit in the game means a player has to work hard on his/her stamina - matches between professionals often turn out to be a test of endurance. The only limiting factor in the popularity of the game is the availability of affordable tennis courts for common public. Everyone should try Lawn Tennis - the world's most popular individual sport atleast once!

  1. My favorite sport is tennis. I have been playing tennis since I was a little boy. The first person who started teaching me was my dad, and thanks to him I have known this great sport. I play once – twice a week just for myself : to keep fit, and to relax. I watch tennis on TV very often. Sometimes when I have the opportunity I go to tennis matches.
My favorite sportsman is a tennis player : Rafael Nadal. Spanish tennis player, and the current number 1. I have admired him for the very beginning. I wish that one day I will be able to watch him playing form the stadium with one of his biggest opponents Roger Federer.
Sport is very important, I can even say extremely important. It is not just about 6 packs, and all this stuff. It is about your health and state of being. Doing sports can make you feel relaxed and fulfilled.

  2. Well my favourite sport... It depends. My like to play volleyball most, but watching football is most exciting for me. My favourite sportsman is Andry Schevchenko- Ukrainian professional ex. football player. Sport is very important in our life, because it keeps us fit. Without sport people are fat and lazy, I enjoy practising diffrent sports when it's possible.

  3. My favourite sports are dance, fitness and hand ball. I'm watching dance competitions but mostly on the Internet because they are not so popular in Polish TV. I am also watching handball sometimes but I'd rather like to play it than watch it.
My favourite sportsman from the ones that are widely known is probably Justyna Kowalczyk. But as I said my favourite sport is dancing and lately my favourite dancers are Amy Yakima and Melanie Moore - winners of the American editions of So You Think You Can Dance.
I think that sport is one of the most important things in our lives and everyone should do some kind of sport - not only when we want to lose some weight but from the very beginning, as a child for all our lives. I think that we have to understand that we have to take care of ourselves to be able to live a long happy healthy life.

  5. My favorite sport is of course football. I am a huge fan of the two football clubs - Legia Warszawa and Tottenham Hotspur FC. I'm trying to watch every match and if I have a chance I go to the stadium. My favorite athlete is Christian Eriksen - The Danish football player (young and talented midfielder) who left the Ajax Amsterdam and join Tottenham Hotspur. But that could change. Sport is very important in our lives. And not only watching but doing it. It is healthy, improves our condition and the pitch is perfect place to get rid of the excess of energy.

  7. I always have a problem with that, which is my favourite sport - volleyball or handball. I love playing both but with handball is harder because you need a large sports hall and, besides you, you need to have at least 13 people to play. To play volleyball 4 people is enough and you can play outside, not only on a sports hall. That's why I have no contact with handball now. Last time I had a chance to play it in high school. On the other hand, I really enjoy to watch matches on TV, even now, when the Polish national team participates in the European Championships. I love the whole team handball players. When it comes to volleyball, I prefer playing than watching matches. Playing gives me a lot of positive emotions, energy and now I regret that when I was younger, I didn't try to join to a section or a club to be able to play more professionally. I would like to play volleyball very well but I have not enough opportunities to practise it, only during PE classess.

Reasons for which I'd say sport is important in life is health and passion that it supports.

My favourite sportsman is Leo Messi, who is a player of FC Barcelona. He is also the best player in the world, which he proved by getting 4 Golden Balls (it's a prize for being the best player). I've read all books about Messi and this helped me understand that he is not only the best player but a great human being aswell.

  13. I’m not a kind of person who likes some sports more than other. When I was younger, about 6 years ago, I was keen on football. I was a big fan of Chelsea FC, watched all theirs match and known something about all players. But when I went to high school I had too less time to me a good fan. I’m still happy when I found out that they win some game but I don’t stay current with their activity.
My favourite sportswoman is Natalia Partyka. I’m not a big fan of table tennis, but I admire her for her will to fight with advertise. She is a great example that nothing is impossible when you are really determined.
I think that sport teach us self-discipline, persistency and help with moulding our character. What is more, a lot of discipline show how indispensable part of success is teamwork. Furthermore, it is very enjoyable way to stay fit and health.

  14. As an average Pole I like football and other sports in which polish sportsmen are good at. And of course, I like watching winning Poles without difference what type of sport it is. But except doing that, I have nothing in common with sport and being frankly, I must say I don't have any favourite sportsman.
I know sport is really important and we have to DO something with our body. Otherwise, we will be fat and... not attractive. Sport also releases endorphins, what makes us happier. However, when I don't have any compulsion, I don't practice it. That's the truth.

  18. I have three favourite disciplines of sport – boxing, cycling and ski jumping and I regularly watch each of them on TV and read about them a lot in Internet. It’s very hard for me to pick out my favourite one but I like boxer Floyd Mayweather (the best boxer in the world) and cyclist Alberto Contador (won Le Tour de France a few times).
Sports are very important nowadays because it’s a way of rivalry in peaceful conditions. Once people were killing other people to prove that they are better and nowadays they just want to show the audience that they are better sportsmen than others.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
