Playing games in daily life

For some people, playing games is a bad habit. Especially for parents, who suspect that games affect badly on behaviour and stupefy young people, but the truth is there are few advantages, which are helpful in our daily life.
Firstly, stereotype that only children play in games is false. There are many adults, who play games on Xbox console or PC Software after hard workday.  Some of them said in some interviews that games are the form of relaxation and the way to forget failures in the middle of day. I can agree with that, because after the stressful day, even I prefer to spend free time and have some fun as a commando soldier or paladin.
Secondly, by playing games people can earn money and support own family. We can find these gamers even on youtube channel and I think it's good to bind pleasant with useful.

Furthermore, not while ago some neurobiologists from University of California discovered, that games equipped with graphics 3D like 'Super Mario 3D World' can buoy up on remembering. This is the proof,  that these type of games would be helpful not only for children, but also for old people.

For young people playing games is also the way to meet new people, share with others the same passsion and even to find a soulmate (Yep, few of my colleages found them by online games). Unfortunately, some of teenagers spend too much time in front of the computer, forgetting about duties and meetings with others in real life. It's bad, because social life is also important and necessary to become more sensitive, independent and matured.
What is more, those who play games too much sometimes become more cruel, agressive and brutal. There were some accidents in which, gamers after the defeat started to accurse, scream or even smash the keyboard.

To sum up, It is important to do not forget, that games should be the method to relax. Not to generate bad habits. People should tell the difference between reality and fiction.

Here some questions:
1. Do you still play games? If so, what are for you?
2. Do you know the other advantages or disadvantages connected with games?

Comments

  1. From time to time I enjoy playing playstation games. Fifa or some arcade games is acceptable for me but only with a company of my friends. For me it's just spending time in a different way.
When I see the younger brothers of my friends spending all their time in front of computer I'm terrified. It's sad the new generation prefer game world rather than the real one.

  2. When it comes to playing games, it is not so interesting for me. Why? Because it is time- consuming. I rather sing or write than play games. But every time I’m at home, I have a great opportunity to see how games can affect on my brother. He is definitely cut off from society. He use only skype to talk to his friend who… also play the same game and they are in the virtual team. Sometimes I can’t make him understood because playing games absorbs him.

  4. I'm not a fan of games. I don't play games. I know, some people like it and this is their way of spending free time, but I don't see anything interesting in it. For me it's a waste of time. I'd rather spend time with real people in real life. Of course there are many games that teach, but there are also those that burn brain.

  6. Games... Yes, but not computer games. Although sometimes I play too, but not a lot. I really like Role playing games, with the master of the game and using imagination, dices and piece of paper to play. This type of game have the one disadvantages: It needs a lot of time to prepare and to playing. And you can't make a short, fast game in break between meals.

  7. I don't have time fo computer games. I used to playwhen I was between 15and 18 years old. Games for me were a rest from reality, wrom problems and stress. But it was not an addiction. People who play a lot can focused on many things in one moment. They are better in multitasking. Gamers have quick reactions in many situations. Of course if it become addiction it's horrible. We lost contanct with reality. Virtual life get "real" for us. We prefere virtual friends and worlds.

  8. I've been playing video games for way too long. Since my early childhood, actually. I have very fond memories of growing up with classic games that I would never exchange. I went through all of the console generations and quite a lot of PC games, and I don't think it's ever been a waste of time. I find that it cultivated my interests in literature and programming, and helped me make friends with similar interests. And I had fun.
Nowadays I play short games that are highly praised since I don't have too much free time, whereas in my childhood I would play long RPGS that could easily eat up 90 hours each. However, if I could I would play for much longer. I spend around 3 hours daily on playing, longer if it's a free day.
As for cons, there are people that get too immersed in games, especially children, but I think it's up to their parents to decide what they should do. The same thing goes for violence that stems from video games. Parents shouldn't allow children to play these games if they think it's bad for their kids, the age rating is there for a reason. It's certainly not the video game's fault.

  9. To be honest I'm not really type of gamer. I don't play it. Sometimes I think that it's kind of waste of time. But of course some people find it interesting. In my opinion games (of course good games, not just mobile phone's time-killers) can improve your creativity and learn how to make decisions in a second. However, I will stay with my traditional way of increasing my imagination - I wil stay with reading a book.

  10. Sometimes I play some computer games. It's usually MMORPG or Strategy games. I don't really like to play other types.
Thanks to computers games I learned a lot of foreign languages, especially it helped me with english. If I can talk to other players from whole world, we usually speak English so it's good way to practice pronunciation so games can be great relaxation and language lesson in one.

  11. My favorite game is "Sims". I was playing in it when I was young and honestly sometimes now. I prefer other ways of relax. I do not understand people who play all the time, it is a waste of time.

  12. I love playing games! I'm still fan od the sims series, Diablo, and recently i finally started play 'the witcher'. Killing demons can be really relaxing, especially after long day full of stress. I do not think it's waste of time - on the other hand we could also ask why someone like to cook or read books. Its hobby like every other.

  13. I play lots of games! PC games, via Internet also board gamers. I can't agree with statement that games are only for children. Adults can learn new abilities because of being player. By playing war games we can learn more history and strategy, so we're training our brains.
For my we can't call it "wasting time", but everybody need to spread it in their free time, then there's no problem!
I watch "streamers", playing games is their job, some of them earn large sums of money!

  14. Very seldom I play computer games, because I do not have time, but if I play, for example, The Sims 3. Games for me are just entertainment and relaxation. Of course, playing computer games has its advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is that they allow you to relax and forget for a while about the responsibilities and problems. By contrast, the main disadvantage is that it may make the time and are expensive.

  15. I don't play computer games, even I was a child I didn't play too. For me it's not a good way to spend my spare time but for a lot of people it's the best way to relax for example for my brothers. It doesn't matter that one of them is 9 years old and another is 27. The both of them love games. I don't think that is dangerous for my older brother but I am afraid about my younger one. In my opinion playing games could make him impatient and agressive.

  16. I was playing more when I was in junior high school and high school. Now I don’t have to much time for this. But still I like games which are simply and makes opportunity to talk with other people. I also like more competitive games like League of Legends or new ones, great looking with interesting plot like Witcher.
For me one of important advantages of games is that they can help people with dyscalculia, Alzheimer or autism. They are also good way of practicing focusing and reflex.

  17. From time to time, occasionally it happens to me :) I mean playing games, most frequently via mobile phone, when I am bored, waiting in queque or while using public transport.
In my opinion playing games can be beneficial but as everything we need to use this wisely, it can't become our addiction!

  18. I used to often played computer games. Really, I remember well those times. With the games at an early age learned a lot of English phrases. Sometimes I watch YouTube videos of some games that usually last from a few to several minutes instead of spending hours in front of the display in free time. Unfortunately I don't have time for such things like playing games, but I think that after a positive session I find the time to return to my childhood.

  19. I don't play games very often, because I don't have enough time for it. But if I do have some free time I like to play some games with my brother. Our favourite is Lego Star Wars haha. I don't like playing alone, because it's much more funnier to play with someone else. It's like a little break in a life, when I can not think about important things, just relax.

  21. This presentation points advantages and disadvantages of playing games. I had no idea, that games equipped with graphics 3D can improve our memory. I don't play games. I have only played a game called "FIFA" on my cousin console few times. I enjoyed it a little, but I don't see a point in buying such expensive thing for myself. Console can be a way to relax and have fun, but for children older than 15 years old. Most of video games are full of anger and agression and they can have bad influence on smaller kids behaviour. There are lots of information in news about children, who became adicted to games so hard, that they started to think that real world is a game (in some cases kids even shot their parents!). It is really important to control games and time, which children spend on playing. Parents should be taking care of it.

  23. According to the questions, I still play games, but just during free days from study. I mean Christmas break or holiday - not weekends. Why? I get addicted to games very quickly. During this time, I forget about real life for more than a week - sometimes even for a few months ... That's why I relax in the weekends in a different ways - I meet with friends or visit my family in another city - I don't want neglect learning by playing games after weekends because of my addicting.

I love MMORPG like "Aion", "Metin 2", card game like "Hearthstone" and also simulation game like "The Sims 2/3/4". I used to play in "League of Legends" a few years ago, but I didn't like the atmosphere in this game. Players constantly cursed and insulted others. So I gave up.

Even though I like games, I think they have any advantages. They're based on psychological phenomena to make us addictive. There're special reward systems and leveling system in games, so we can't stop playing them. Our eyesight and health (for example because of lack of sport) getting worse. That's why everyone should limit wasting time on games.

  24. I'm not playing games very often. If I play it in Assassin's Creed, because I really like this series and I have a childhood tendency for it. However, my boyfriend loves to play. He can spend a few hours a day in front of a computer. I do not know how he does it, that he spends so much time on games, sleep well, has good grades and goes to the gym! The big advantage that I saw in playing is that you have a very fast response time and often quite good strategic thinking. The big downside, however, is that games can cause hyperactivity and addiction. It is best when a person can break boundaries in all areas of life, not only in playing games.

  25. I play games rarely because I don’t have enough time. I played “That’s you” game on PS4 console with my younger brother few times. This game is some kind of quiz and the player can find something new about others gamer. I absolutely agree with the author that the games can generate negative feelings and bring aggressive behaviours. Moreover, games are addictive and can be dangerous for our health especially for eyes. On the other hand, I think that playing online games and chatting with other players during gameplay can improve our language skills. In addition we practising our reflex and we can reduce our stress level.

  26. 1) To be honest usually I don't play any games. I don't have time for it. I prefer meeting with friends or watching movies or other activities. Sometimes when I meet with my friends from work. We play together on Xbox in Fifa and we create something like tournament, but I consider this rather like meeting with friends than playing games. We are laughing, talking and playing on Xbox doesn't matter But play games daily and without friends is simply wasting of time.
    2) I think that large disadvantage of playing games is that it make people antysocial and divorced from reality. Games, which are violent can make some people agressive. On the other hand playing games sometimes can encourage to interest of some topics, for example when I played with strategy game about Second World War , when I was young, I took an interest on this topic.

  27. Playing games is usually consider by people who don't play as a bad habit you should get rid of because it takes too much of your time that you could spend in a more ambitious way. I personally don't play games as I simply don't have time for it. Some time ago I read an article that touched on the issue whether playing violent games make people violent. Their opinion was that playing this kind of games might cause brutality in a human to the point that under influence of a game somebody might murder someone. For me playing games cannot lead to criminal behaviour itself and people are just overreacting. What is more people who play in this kind of games they usually don't need to create more violence so they are even in a much better position than people who don't have a contact with this kind of games and then feel like committing a crime.

  28. Personally I don't play any game. But I know a lot of people in different age who still like relaxe on this way. I understand that it can be one of the best ways for it but... every player should remember that it isn't real life. That next to him live real people. For human is important to keep contact with other people. Then he can evolve, not just vegetate.

  29. The most visible negative consequence is that the games addict. Some one training can end up after hours after the beggining and the player doesn't see any difference between the weather etc. He can forgot eat and sleep etc. It's dangerous.

  30. Playing games is a fun way to chill after hard work but only if you have time for it. That's beacause it's the best way to waste your precious time. I'm not against them, yet still we shouldn't forget which world is real, and which life is more important - true or virtual one. It's scientificly proved that they help improve some skills and raise IQ but you have to be self-disciplined not to get addicted.

  31. I don't play games. I think, that we can find other way to get relaxed or improve our memory or other skills. There are a lot of possibilities to meet new people, we should only go out of home and life in reality.
I know, that sometimes we need a break to sit on a chair or bed and take a computer, but games are not helpful, when it comes to our life.
I don't need it and I don't understand why this is so popular even among adults.

  33. I still like playing games. I consider them as a good way of relaxation similarly to watching movies or reading books. I prefer "real time strategy" games (based on building economy and creating an army). I played some of them with the original english sounds and subtitles. Therefore thanks to them I have learnt some elementary foreign words conected with recources like "wood”, "stone” or "iron”. So I think games might be way of extending vocabulary range.

  34. Honestly, I rarely play games. It's not that I don't like it. It's rather that I don't know much about it so I don't know which games I might like. But this few which I played I really enjoyed. I think that it's a good way to reduce stress or just to have fun. It's a hobby as good as watching movies, especially that more of them has a plot just like good films.

  35. Nowadays playing computer games is very popular. I do not play any of them. If I have to choose I will always take a board game than computer ones. These days we can find a lof of rapid – fire and adventure board games with are good for people in all ranges of age. It can help us to think faster. On the other hand, thanks to computer games we can learn more foreign languages and what is important to have a good pronunciation. But for people who have no sense of timing these games may be a big disadvantage. Then it may be creating an anger to other people in real life.

  36. Unfurtanetely I have no any idea about playing video games, just because it has never bee my cup f tea. But I am not againts, I realise that playing games is good distraction or even way of earning money. Parents should be careful and rational when they let their children play games. Especially, kids are liable to get addicted of video games.

  37. I've been playing video games for years now, and hopefully I'll be able to keep playing them in years to come. For me personally, they're not just about entertainment, but they serve as great stress relief, when you can separate from your real life for a second. Video games also help you make new acquintances and help with improving certain skills like reflexes, hand-eye coordination, or even foreign languages. Most of my english vocabulary I've learned from video games and movies in fact.

  38. Personally, I dont play any games, but I suppose that there is more adventages then disadventages. First, games teach Foreign languages, when you have person form diffrent Country in your team. Second, a lot of games help improve your skills like reflex, you have to think very fast, you practise your memory and coordination. What is more, some games teach you a history, like God of war which is based on norse mithology. It is also Just a hobby, and helps to relax. Main disadvantage is that people spend too much Time on games, So they spoil their eyes, and forget how to talk with others in Real life.

To be honest I have never played games, it is not a amusement for me. I like listen music instead od play games. Maybe it is good way to relax, meet friends and learn English also, but i see only disadventages like lost time, forget about reality world and soemtimes important things and peoples (family, firends).

  40. I play computer games rarely because I have no time for it. When I was in high school I loved play - it was way to talk with friend and relax - I think that for many people this is most often reason to play. Concurrently popularity of e-sport still increase. Computer games can be good way to earn money.

  41. I love to play games - there wasn't a time when I didn't. But it's really tricky. When playing, time goes faster (sometimes a heartbeat too). I think that it's really important to know how to help yourself with a time we spend on games. Playing board games should be a good alternative for those who spend more time with computer games than with their friends (and they won't feel so guilty too).

    ReplyDelete
  42. I strongly believe, that games apart from some disadvantages, also have their bright side. Today I'm not that type of person, who would choose computer game instead of book, music or boarding game, but I don't consider people, who play these types of games as worse than me.
Although I used to play some family games with my siblings at play station at young age and it was great experiences, today I wouldn't do that, even if I really want. Tyhe reason is simple - I don't have time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Honestly the last time when I was playing a computer game was several years ago at least. Unfortunately I have not too much free time and I prefer to spend it better. But I know people who play games and win the competitions. However, in majority, the prizes are not too high and in my opinion it is not profitable activity in the context to lost time. And second metter is that for 1000 people, one wins and 999 lost free-time. Unfortunately, I do not agree that it is good activity because the per cent of people which have a profits from playing games is not too high.

  44. I play games sometimes. Today I do it ocassionally, when I like to immerse myself into virtual world. Some games show great stories, there are also these, which can be played only in a team and it's great to play them with friends.
In my opinion, games have too bad reputation. They are as dangerous as television and they have more bright sides: for example they can develop creativity or willingness to read. Maybe if adults tried to understand this hobby and didn't want to frighten children, both sides would be more happy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think that games take too much time everyday and we should reduce usage it. It is good for entertainment and meeting new people online. It also develop our reflex. But it can not be a main element of out life. It is easy to addict because we think about new game's achivements ad levels

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
