5 ORGINAL WAYS TO MAKE A LIVING

We live in the world where everybody wants to earn money without any effort and some of them will actually succeed in that field. They did things that may seem a little strange, very original or just stupid. Below I present five stories how people made money in a really weird ways.

1. “Buy my face”

Ross Harper and Ed Moyse after graduating from Oxford University realized that they had a lot debts to pay off. They decided to sell their faces as an advertising space. They started with friends who had been painting slogans at boys’ faces. For the day with the advertisement on their face they took one pound, now they can charge even over 400 pounds. They photograph their painted faces and put it on web page, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. On this business they already earned over 25 thousand pounds.

2. A little bit of your country in a bag
Two Irish guys Pat Burk and Alan Jenkins opened the firm called Auld Sod Export. To emigrants from Green Island in all over the world they are sending bags with 240 grams of their native land. Cost of the shipping is 20$. Every year Burk and Jenkins import couple tons of ground and in each packet they put seeds of clover – symbol of Ireland. The emigrants use it for funerals or they use it when they build homes. A lot of Irish ground buy also Chinese people because they believe that the ground from Ireland brings luck. 80% of the profit is donating to charity.

3. Scents of deer urine
There is that belive that Polish hunter to succeed on the hunt, should touch the feminine knee, then prosperity is assured. But apparently there are other effective ways for a successful hunt.
The American guy had an idea which may seems crazy – he decided to produce fake deer urine. „Mrs. Doe Pee’s Buck Lures” became a hit. Liquid supposedly works wonders in the difficult art of attracting wildlife. One bottle costs 15$.

4.  The shop of broken hearts
Joshua Opperman was surprised when one night he entered his apartment and against his fiancée he saw empty closets. The only thing she had left was the engagement ring. Joshua decided to throw it away and then he had the idea that probably there is more of unwanted diamonds. He opened the shop “I Do Now I Don’t” that sells diamonds that nobody wants.

5. A tattoo for the baby
Kari Smith wanted to provide a better future to her baby, so she had an idea – in 2005 she put on auction her own forehead! The winner could tattoo on it everything he wanted to. The auction was won by on-line casino, so Smith ended with “Goldenplace.com” tattooed. After everything she said: “it may seem weird, but for my 10 thousand dollars is a lot of money. You only live once and I’m doing it for my son.”

As you may see there is a lot of ways to make a living, all you need is a little bit of creativity!

Questions:
Which of these seem to you resonable and orginal and which is just twisted and weird?
Do you know any others weird/orginal ways to make a living?

Comments

  1. This presentation is really interesting. But I think these kind of earn money are really stupid and weird. In my opinon any of these ways to make a living are reasonable. So I can say that people are really lazy, if they do not want to find a normal job. The woman who has a tattoo on her head makes that I wiped my eyes with astonishment.
I have read about more normal way to make a living. For example about place when we can sell our hair. But hair should fulfill the requirements. Of course hair should be enough long and not dyed.

    ReplyDelete
  2. For me very original and reasonable is shop with engagement rings. If you are boy, and girl refuse your engagement you have nothing to do with this ring. So having shop, that buys them is very clever idea. Really bad idea is to sell your body as advertisement place. You only have one body, so making tatoos with some website names is really stupid. I dont know if this girl would ever find a boyfriend.
I have read once on a newspeper about people who works as fart testers. They have to smell them and then rate it. They get a lot of money from it, becouse no one wants to do this, since its really grose. But from the other hand job is job, and we shouldnt make fun from it, as long as we get money for it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. In my opinion 'The shop of broken hearts' is good idea, I like it. Others are weird. I understand that people want to earn a lot of money, not in this way. Sometimes situation force us to do something for our relatives but tattoo on forehead sounds really stupid ! You can do something different, something normal! The worst thing is that you must be with tattoo untill end of your life!
I saw that people sell on the internet 'celebrity exhale air in bag'. People buy it - absurd ! I don't know why, maybe they want to sparkle and earn 5 zloty :)

  4. For me,every form for getting money of these are weird.Esepcially, these ideas for tatoo faces or selling their faces as an advertising space. It looks really bad. That idea of "the shop of broken hearts" is not so bad,bo I really do not know is it has a lot of klients.
I heard about some people who become testers of medication for money.I think that it is really dangerous and irresponible

    ReplyDelete
  5. Most of these examples I find weird, but some ideas seem to be very original. E.g. sending bags with native land to emigrants shows people's regionalism and it's not only good idea for business but also a symbol of patriotism. I don't know many weird ways to make a living, but I could point out an idea of selling different parts of body. People would rather sell their organs than find a regular job.

    ReplyDelete
  6. In my opinion the idea to sell an original product is great. Unusual products attract attention, so there is a possibility to get a free advertisement. But I think that there are some limits and I cannot imagine selling my own body. I am sure that Kari Smith was able to find other way to earn money for her son. Morover, I reckon she will regret it. Being creative is extremely important, but if we do not respect ourselves (and our bodies), we will not respect anything.

  7. The one that I'm impressed with is Irish Dirt. It's amusing that the tale of bringing-luck clover is so strong that people are ready to buy it. However, good for these Irish guys that they appreciated its power - and plus for donating profits.
What seems to be the weirdest are sold forehead and face advertisements. It is only nowodays when it can work.
I don't know any more weird ways to make a living, but I'm looking for it...

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think that selling the face to advertise some things like this boys is good way to earn money. Mayby it is a little bit crazy but in my opinion it is effective. Bud this second kind of selling the face it is very difficult to understand. I don't konw how people can destroy face on whole life with tatoo.

I know a person who was making a sweets and then was selling it in scholl to earn for new shoes. He was crazy

    ReplyDelete
  9. In my opinion, the idea of selling your own forehead is a misunderstanding. Even though I am trying to imagine how desperate that woman was, I cannot understand her decision - she was lucky that it is only "goldenpalace.com" tattoo on her face, not something much worse. The rest of those ways to make money are rather acceptable - people who chose them always have the opportunity to change to something else.

I think that the best idea had the man who opened shop with unwanted diamonds. It may be really great business. We hear more and more often about unhappy love - for sure he will have customers all the time. What is more, this idea is not as embarrassing as the other ones.

Other strange idea how to make money I heard about is putting advertisements on your legs (you can read about it here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2375732/Japanese-women-paid-adverts-THIGHS-catch-attention-men.html). It may seem quite similar to the first mentioned in the article, but for me it is far more controversial. Boys put advertisments on their face and make photo - it draws people's attention because it is unusual and looks funny. Advertisements on Japanese girls' legs attract men's attention because of their instinct - I do not think it is ok.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I think that every king of these ways to make a living is weird. Ideas for tattoo faces or selling their faces as an advertising space are not responsible. Very original idea is shop with engagement rings. It can be helpful, because man has nothing to do with this ring and now he can recover his money. I heard some strange ideas to earn money like selling hair, trying new medicines or paying partners for weddings and proms.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I find that RING SHOP is merly a pawnshop or a second hand jewellery shop, so it's not very original idea, but it may be a profitable business. Forehead tattoo commercial is ridiculous idea and it isn't even worth that 10K, in my opinion.
Onec, I knew a guy who was working as an backgraund actor/extra. We called him Buffy. Obviusly, his acting job wasn't weird at all, but when
he couldn't find a gig, he donated blood plasma as a part time job. It wasn't usually much smoewhere around €30 to 40€ every time he donates. I wouldn't suggest doing it for that though.

    ReplyDelete
  12. In my opinion, the most sensible option is "The shop of broken hearts" because it's quite a good way to get rid of unpleasant memories and giving objects a chance at happiness of someone else. And by the way, you can make money.
The most weird option is to make a tattoo on the forehead ... Why? I understand that in the case of Kari Smith, it was a way of getting the money for the child. You have to remember that tattoos can not just wash off with water. This is a crazy idea, because you never know who will win the auction.
I heard some time ago, about the strange auctions on the Internet. People exposed to the sale of flood water, clean mountain air, polluted air of the city, the countryside smells in bottles or dirty clothes of celebrities. When viewing online auctions or other sites, you can find many crazy ideas to make money ..

    ReplyDelete
  13. In my opinion all the ways to earn money presented here are obviously weird. I understand famous people (actors etc.) who are "selling" their faces to the big companies, but it's not such a stupid thing like writing slogans or even making a tattoo on your face just to have cash. Other ways maybe aren't the best options but they are more resonable. When I was younger I was selling pieces of paper with terms for a tests, I think it was definetly weird :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. The text is very interesting. Some of the examples seems just funny, the others - especially one- frightening. I can't imagine having anything tattooed on my forehead - stars or whatever what. But name of a casino website- that's just a disaster. I prefer the soft version of selling your face , just like the boys from Oxford did. At least they can wash the advertisements. The example of man who sells unwanted diamonds show how to convert something bad into something brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I must say that this presentation is worth reading because it's quite funny, especially example of selling ground in packet. However one thing in this "business" is really significant I mean that 80% of the profit is donating to charity. I like the idea of shop with diamonds that nobody wants. I think it is the only one reasonable option. Selling faces is for me too weird no matter for what reason. For me is too much because our face is our private sphere and property.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think that shop "I do, now I don't" is resonable, because you can sell the ring that your sweetheart don't wont to and maybe someone buy this ring which bring him luck. Selling dirt from Ireland is original, I'm very suprised that people actually buy it. It's great that they give 80 percent of their money for charity. The wierdest was selling face to make a tattoo, I think that she colud think about something elese to earn money for her child.
I've never heard about wierd ways to make a living, or maybe they not wierd for me.

    ReplyDelete
  17. so, at first I have to say that I have never saw that kind of, let's call it advertisment. the "face" example is great, because its really eye catching. maybe a little less shocking than a tattoo on your forehead, i cant imagine walking till the end of my life with website adress on face.
selling street dirt or scents of moose urine? why not, crazy people can buy everything. but i dont know what for... a shop with unwanted diaments it great idea, but i dont think that i will be really happy about engaged ring which was left by some women ealier. its not good prediction.
nowadays there is lot of unconventional ways to earn money, like for example blogging but i'm not sure if compering it to those examples is correct, because it seems normal now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree that above ways to earn money are rather weird. Idea with selling body is the most ridiculous for me. Mateusz made a good point that it is more reasonable to do this by famous people because in that case it don’t involve such sacrifice and are better paid. I have read about girls who was working for some tights’ shop. They have to take photo when they were wearing products of this shop and put it on the Facebook with logo of the firm in the corner. Wages weren’t very high, they were include only products of this firm, but in my opinion it was fair deal.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Very nice article with some creative and/or crazy ideas. In my opinion, the most creative and resonable was Joshua with his shop. He was able to use his negative experience to create useful and interesting business. That's a great example for everyone - never give up and try to get everything you can from even the worst experience in your life.

The weirdest idea is the last one. It's very sweet, that mother can do everything for her son, but I think, that she could find some smarter ways to earn money than make a tattoo of some casino web-page on her had. Not the best idea.

As for all the other ways to make living, I can say that they are also very creative and funny. Those people showed us that sometimes crazy and not typical ideas can help us to earn some money. Just don't be afraid of your imagination!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think that everyone can do what he want and if we want to sell our face us a advertisement space is our business, but I think that some of this situations are very wierd especially women with tatoo. It's terrible to wear that kind of tatoo all your life. I think that website for selling diamonds is a great and original idea that is very useful.

Do you know any others weird/orginal ways to make a living?
I think all show here are very strange way to make a living. I can’t conceive that it is a true. I thing women wchich tattoo her forehead for her children is weird, to say the least. I haven’t original idea to make a living but I would like find more life’s way for my life. I still looking for.

  23. “Buy my face”,''A tattoo for the baby'' and ''The shop of broken hearts'' seem to be resonable for me. The first one is a good dea to promote something, the second one is strange, but there is reason, which I respect. The last one...orginal and useful! ''Scents of deer urine'' seems to be really weird for me......

There are many strange ideas to make a living.
Some people make stupid, funny shows in a public place, some meditate and so on.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Very crazy ideas for business. I would never do a tattoo on my forehead. It's awful. I understand the situation when someone close could die but I'd rather choose a different idea. The idea of the ground is very cool. Even the poles long ago took Polish ground to the United States. People believe in superstitions. So probably liquid so well sold. I hope that someone once declares me. And I will not have to break a marriage proposal. But if it would happen this store with unwanted diamonds is great.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Which of these seem to you resonable and orginal and which is just twisted and weird? In my opinion idea with Irish ground for sale seems to be reasonable, because irish who lives abroad, can have a part of his country on his own. The weirdest idea for mee is the tatoo on face with ads. It so stupid and i don't know who can opt for it.
Do you know any others weird/orginal ways to make a living?
For me the weirdest way to make a living is virginity for sale.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have never heard about these ways of earning money. That is why I find this presentation such interesting. However, I must say that some ideas which are presented above are... really weird let's say. The worst option in my opinion is selling a forehead. What that women was thinking about? Didn't she aware of the fact that she will wear this tattoo for the rest of her life? What is more, it was an auction, so everything was possible. I mean that she could have tattooed something worse.
At the same time I think that the rest of presented ideas are more or less reasonable. My favourite one is the business connected with sending a native land. It's really innovetive, simple and at the same time splendid plan. They not only make the money - they help people to feel better in new place, country.
I have never heard about any other freak ideas to earn money.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nowadays unemployment is the most visible problem, which societies have to face with. For most people, who live in poverty or are profit-oriented every work is worth their weight in gold even if it's so weird. Some people agonized over where they should work. I make no claim to understand it but I know that there are some coincidence, which force us to undertake something despite ourselves. It's hard to deny that selling own forehead just to strike it rich is unimaginable as well as irresponsible. There are some principles and ethical standards, which we shouldn't overuse by transgressing the bound of decency such as producing fake deer urine, selling kidneys or setting up the shop of broken hearts.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Really interesting post! I enjoy a lot a name of this company which buys rings 'I do now I don't'-I think it is brilliant! I also think that selling a ground is not that bad idea, I can imagine people who live abroad and feel homesick. They can use it to plant a tree or shamrock and it reminds them about homeland. I am not able to understand selling your face on auction! Or being live advertisment... I don't know is this still creativity or simply just stupidity. I haven't heard about any other weird jobs...

    ReplyDelete
  29. In my opinion the weirdest way to earn money, among ideas shown in this presentation is "selling forehead". I would never want to have a tattoo on my face, especially advertising one. The interesting idea is the shop “I Do Now I Don’t”. When someone becomes left by their love, it is normal feeling that they don't want to keep the jewelry and better solution is to sell it, than to throw it out.
Now I can't recall any weird ways to make a living.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "Buy my face" is interesting way to make money. This is creative idea and I liked it. But this is not the way for a long business, because after a while, it becomes too boring. However, the idea has my approved ;)
Scents of deer urine is a little disgusting. But if someone likes it, that's fine ;)
The most stupid idea is with a tattoo on forehead. I can not accept that. This is crazy in a bad way! And only for 10 thousand dollars? Someone is crazy, really. This is something, what she will have her all live. 10 tousend it's not a lot of money.
But that's true. If you need money, the only limit is your imagination.

    ReplyDelete
  31. In my opinion, the most reasonable idea is “A little bit of your country in a bag”. There are a lot of very sentimental people, especially emigrants who miss their country and I can imagine that they have necessity to buy ground from their homeland. The other ideas are weird and stupid for me, I would never introduce them.
I have heard about some commercial portal, where you can share your top secrets with others, being anonymous.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't really like any of the presented ideas, especially the face tatoos.
But if I had to choose which of them is the best I would say that the
2nd one, it's really smart - how to sell something, that everyone can
have for free, and the idea is not that bad.
The most surprising way to make a living is to becoma a streamer.
People always think that playing computer games is just a waste of time,
but here you can really earn much and do what you like!

  34. In my opinion, the idea of putting on auction your own forehead is terrible because a tattoo is something that will point out a child that he or she is the reason of this dedication, that he or she was guilty.
To my mind, one of the interesting phenomena in the labour market is writing a blog because you can earn great amount of money writing about something without being an expert in an exact topic and without being a professional writer.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think all of these ways to make a living are just stupid . You can't treat it as a stable source of money, it's just periodic or eventually retarded. You might clean car windows on crossroads as well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think that sending bags with your land is great. It is good solution for people who missing their home.
Making any tattoo on your face looks disgusting and disfigures a man. Whether you are doing it for the money or not. You're doing yourself a harm. And this woman certainly could get money for her son in a different way. Her behavior mean that her son will be laughed at in the future. It is just stupid.

  38. I would never sold my face as a marketing space, it's just wrong and stupid. the main idea for all this kind of jobs is creativity and tattooing your face is just lack of it. But guys selling irish dirt are my winners in not doing anything and earning money from it. Also that shop with engagement rings is a great idea. I once saw a job advertisment as a coffin model at funeral house. You only had to lie in a coffin without a move for 8 hours. Best job for lazy people

    ReplyDelete
  39. Get a tattoo on a forehead? That woman has to feel really humiliated with a tattoo on her forehead. I realize she did it for good cause but what about the other people who took part in the auction? It sad they had a laugh at her cost. The other way are quite normal. Actually the idea of the shop of broken hearts is terrific.
As we can see there is infinite amount of ideas on a business

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don’t mind the idea of “buy my face” because as you can see people can earn a good amount of money. This solution would be reasonable but not as good as running up the shop of broken hearts. Unwanted diamonds – why not? There is many couples who split up because of unhappy love. This kind of business is original but it cannot be denied that it is connected with human’s misfortune who lost his “sweetheart”.
The most original idea is selling a little bit of Ireland. Fortune, soil, ground and a history placed in a bag is said to bring luck and success. Nevertheless, it is so weird that people from countries in the whole world buy it. I haven’t thought that it is so popular these days. It is unthinkable!
The weirdest idea is doing tattoo on a forehead. It is thoughtless and really foolish. I can’t imagine how stupid people could make up this thought and realized. If she wanted to do it for her child, she could choose something which wouldn’t be so defacing.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, I can't disagree with author of this presentation. Many people accomplished personal wishes and they found solutions to gather some money. The most reasonable way to make a living was second example. About Irish dirt. The weirdest way was tha last one. About mother who made a tatoo on forehead. The other way which I know is a beggary. It's hard to believe, but many foreigners and Poles using bad appearance or talents to earn some money. Not all of them but I heard that few of them somehow changed own society status. Not only just by beggary, but according to their words, that was their first step.

  43. For me first and last idea are just overview of our times. People will do anything for money, and with global network there is an infinite number of buyers. You can sell yourself, body and soul for literally some dollars because nowadays there is nothing more sacred than cash.

    ReplyDelete
  44. In my opinion the most original idea for earning money presented above is the concept of selling Irish soil. In fact it is a brilliant idea: selling something you have for free just under your feet at no costs of production, no machines or special devices needed and without much effort. And you can earn really good money on it. Basically the owners of Auld Sod Export did not risk much, it seems that the most difficult part of setting up this business was to have that amazing idea and a little bit of craziness to bringing it to life. Also it must be appreciated that 80% of the profits is donating to charity.
On the contrary I don’t respect the idea of selling someone’s own body for advertising – painting faces is not so bad but tattooing foreheads for money is a simple stupidity.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It is obvious that people could do everything for money. Someone may do this in good faith, but I don't think that 10 thousand dollars is worth tatooing the name of a website on the forehead.

    ReplyDelete
  46. People have a crazy ideas sometimes. I think that everything is good, what will get you money. If other people buy it, ok... But for me it's little crazy to buy a ground or an air, or to make tatoos on your baby...

    ReplyDelete
  47. The ideas of the shop of broken hearts and Scents of deer urine are only good business in this article. The first one is because many people has something unwanted, but still this cannot competing with standard auction sites like eBay. Otherwise selling the ground of homeland is nice, because people like things which bring the memories.

Other ideas are just silly. The persons would like money by any cost and they made terrible mistake by selling their privacy to others. This is a quite humiliating.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Pecunia non let, said one wise man. However, I would not decide to let on my face tattoo company's advertisment. I prefer to earn decent money through hardwork. According to irish buisiness, it seems weird to me, yet I can understand people who left their homeland that they are feeling homesick.

    ReplyDelete
  49. In my opinion every idea is great if you feel ok with that what you do. Little weird is selling your body for tattoo, but it's still good if u like it. Best idea was that with diamonds, because ring which means something bad for someone, can have totally different meaning for other person.
Funny way to earn money is renting yourself for hugging. This "huggers" can even sleep with somebody, but not make love, just hugging. It's kinda cool, because some people need little piece of love or warm from the other person and that's not dangerous to anybody.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I really enjoyed the fifth idea. He had pure talent to change own tragedy in business. Other ideas were creative for sure, but most of them seem to be weird and little worrying.
There is one programmer, who invented a game called "Goat simulator". Idea sounds really ridiculous, but this IT specialist earned a lot of money becuse of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think the idea with selling Irish dirt mixed with clover seeds is quite clever. I was wondering why someone would buy it, but something like a funeral seems totally understandable.
On a similar note, I know that you can buy trapped air in a can on top of Mt. Fuji in Japan. I'm willing to believe that there are many more similar bargains going on around the world.
I think that selling your forehead for 10 grand is just as ludicrous as the argument that she's doing it for her son. I feel bad for the kid, since it's very plausible that other children will make fun of him for that. Even I'm laughing at her, and I haven't seen her in person.
I know that for example, in the US you can legally sell your blood or plasma. The procedure is the same as if you were donating blood, but instead of it being given for free, pharmaceutical companies buy it for research. There's an entire opposition towards it, claiming that you might as well give it for free to the people who truly need it, but I'm personally kind of hesitant to give a firm opinion on it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Some people would say that majority of these examples are weird and stupid, but in my opinion not all are stupid, but, I would say, original. It’s funny that a lot of people prefer to do something dangerous like selling different organs of their body than try and look for normal, regular job.

    ReplyDelete
  53. These ideas may seem stupid, but they're not. At first i thought 'oh god what is wrong with these people', but then a realized something. They're not doing anything illegal, they're just making money in a very creative way. They invented their paths, they have the jobs that they want, they sell-other people buy. I love it that they're happy with what they do.

    ReplyDelete
  54. For me this some of these ideas are really stupid like tatoo on forehead - really? For 10 thousands? It's not worth! But if someone need it so, so much...
Idea to open shop with unimportant jewellery is good! That's seeams like great business. They are using their imagination to create things which can connect other people with them. And if somethings works it can't be stupid ;)
    Maybe I'm old-fashioned!

  55. Tattoo on the face is an terrible idea, I would never do that and I doubt that this kid would be proud of what his mother did. But on the other hand - second hand rings is cool buisness, I wish i come out with it before this guy ;)
There is a Polish company which can send anonymous letter to the adress which you choose. You pay them about 3$ and for that they deliver envelope filled with glitter. When someone tries to open envelope, glitter spills over everywhere around, and the person needs to clean ;)
It's kind of revenge or joke.

  56. I didn't know that people sold faces to earn. It interesting, what people do to earn money. I have never heard about something like that before. However in Poland was popular video on youtube, the girl at this film was searched some guy from Poland(Wojtek) and she pleased about sharing this film, and after few weeks. It's turned out it is ad of popular polish clothes shop "Reserved". So PR in companies are full of interesting idea.

  58. Free market give us a lot of oportunities for making money. Depending on our creativity we can use them in almost every possible way. Those people from the article above certainly shouldn't complain about lack of resourcefulness. The ideas might seem stupid, but unless it hurts anyone (maybe excepting the women with tattoo on her forehead ;)), i can only be jealous of their gumption.

    ReplyDelete
  59. For me the most creative idea is "A little bit of your country in bag". For the first look it seems to be silly, but if people who are abroad really want it, why not? That's really cheap to take a little bit of soil, so it's a really good business. And what is the most important, the money goes to charity!
The idea of making tattoo on forehead for baby is weird in my opinion. I undestand that she needed money, but for sure there were other ideas to earn it.
Some years ago I heard about 40 years old woman's idea. She was a virgin and she sold it for 40.000 $

  60. To my mind the most reasonable and orginal way to make a living is the second story. These guys and their idea are very creative. They love their country. Funny is it that Chinese people believe that the ground brings luck. The most weird way is the third story. This guy is creazy. Too twisted is story numer four. This women have a tattoo in a forehead. She will have this eternally in very visual body part.

  61. To be honest, I wouldn't call some of this cases 'creative ideas to earn money'. Maybe selling the pieces of Irish ground and diamonds is somehow an original notion. The rest of presented people in my opinion were very desperate to earn money and did it mindlessly, not really cerebrating. The lady who tattooed her forehead is a complete dead loss to me. I am able to understand that she had to get money as fast as possible but come on! There are a lot of ways to earn nowadays. You can't just take the soft point. I feel sorry for her. She once got some money and that's it. Now she looks like she lost a bet or something. It's ridiculous. The boys from the first paragraph at least didn't tattoo their faces forever.
I think that when we talk about original ways to make a living we should mention people who are really creative, who devote their time and also develop their passion while earning.

  62. In my opinion only fourth one make sense. Rest of them, for me, are just stupid. Who want to put a tattoo on face with advert on it? Or who want to buy dish? It's like selling oxygen that Justin Bieber was breathing. BTW it was sold for 310zł.

    ReplyDelete
  63. In my opinion the weirdest way to make a living is having your forehead tattooed. Face is space of your body, which everyone can see and which you can't hide. Why people should take you seriously, when you have an advertisement on your forehead? Woman from the article did it for her son, but still I think that there are other ways to earn money.

I heard that in Moscow hospitals use ambulances as a cabs. It is designed for people who want to get somewhere really fast. It costs about 100-300 dollars.

  64. I think all of the ideas presented above are very original. I don’t think that any of them are dangerous. The weirdest ones are selling your face for advertising and doing a tattoo for a baby on a forehead. Although you sell your own forehead for a tattoo is a strange idea, I admire a woman who did it, to have money for her child. I think it required a lot of dedication from her.
I think every idea of making money, as soon as it doesn't harm anyone, is good.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This post raises a very interesting topic. However, most of the ideas mentioned here are strange and abnormal. While selling land or jewelry is normal, in my opinion, using your face to advertise deprives human dignity. In both cases described, people desperately needed money, but I think that they have attracted a great deal of attention, and thus many criticisms and unpleasant comments.
Currently, a lot of people make money using the internet. I mean cooperating with advertisers when making videos on YouTube or photos on Instagram. Unfortunately, many of these movies and photos are crazy. In the era of life, many of these photographs idealize human figures and cause that average people fall into depression. In addition, unhooking his half-naked body for photos loses his intimacy in a man.

  66. This presentation concerns about a lot of different and weird ideas to make a living. Some of them are quite shocking but they can't be stupid if they work - for example a piece of Ireland in a bag or boys advertisments on their faces. The last idea is for me unimaginable - I thought this photo was edited with the help of photoshop! I would' tattoo anything on my face, even if someone would pay me a lot of money.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I really liked the first idea. It was funny and creative. The third one with the urine was really disgusting. I do not support hunting animals so I think it's useless. I really like the idea with selling useless diamonds - at least someone can use them. The Irish dirt idea seems weird, but if it's bringing people luck and they feel more like home, then it's fine with me. The last idea was really silly tho.

I guess one of the most known ways to make money right now is making videos on YouTube. You can share your skills by doing tutorials, review books, movies, music. But also do stupid staff like pranks. And get money for all those things. Nothing else comes to my mind besides being a youtuber.

  68. To be honest I think that all presented ways to earn money are freak. Maybe from all of these “The shop of broken hearts” is fairly fine, because nowadays there are a lot of unrequited love, so this business would make gross profit. But when I’ve read the story “A tattoo for the baby” I was in shock. This is unbelievable for me how people could be thoughtless. There a lot of different, better ways to earn money and if even someone gives me 100 tousend dollars for making a tattoo on my forehead I would say NEVER.

    ReplyDelete
  69. To be honest – I don’t know what is wrong with them. Two of them are just a stories about the laziest and the most stupid people/ideas in the world. The rest isn’t as bad as it looks , because „businessmen” made a great deal! They used stupidity and naivety of customers –that’s the best way to make money. Who normall will buy ground from Irland or deer urine? The problem is with customers – not with the entrepreneurs. During reading the rest I wiped my eyes – especially the story about tattoo - Was there any normal job? For example even one, which didn’ destroy t her face for the whole life? I really understand, that peolpe really want money, but we have to stop that crazy race for salaries! Let’s respect ourselfs, not ours bank accounts.

  70. The most reasonable seem be idea about sending a little bit of land and seeds of clover from Ireland. This idea sound good and originators don't have to do strange things. Moreover, the 80 percent of of the profit is donating to charity. It's good because they found simple and cheap idea to help needy. The most weird idea for me is selling your face (to make on it tattoo) for 10 thousand dolars. To be honest it's not so much money to make a tattoo with advertise on face.Tattoo is for whole life. She could do something else to earn this money without changing her face.

  71. In my opinion, demand brings supply, and if someone has an idea that brings him money, even if it is preposterous but works - it is good. Admittedly, I wouldn't agree that someone would make a billboard for me from my face, but if someone does not mind - why not. Selling Irish land also sounds absurd, but as you can see, this idea works. However, the idea of a shop of broken hearts is charming and very nice.

  72. In my opinion, any way of making money is a good idea. Of course these ideas seems strange, but they are very creative. The most funny and attractive I find the idea where advertiser paint on your face. I think the idea of selling your own forehead is not good. Of course she made a lot of money from it but now she have a tattoo to the rest of her life. The idea os sending the piece of land is interesting I think there are a lot of people that want to collect that kind of stuff.

  73. In my opinion the ideas of selling bags filled with ground from a particular country as well as selling unwanted diamonds are not worthless. The first concept is turned towards emigrants as well as curious people around the world who tend to collect gifts of nature as a hobby (beach sand, seashells, stones etc.). The shop of broken hearts also doesn't appear to me as an unresonable or weird idea. That's just a jewelry shop that sells diamonds but because of the creativity of its owner stands out from the rest.

Other ideas for making money sound odd to me and make no sense for longer period of time.

When it comes to original ways to earn money, I have read about people called "professional sleepers" who make a lot of money by testing the comfort of hotel rooms and then filling in forms about the experiences. They also test beds for furniture companies as well as take part in many sleep research projects.

  74. Everyone wants to earn money by laying on the sofa but not everyone is intelligent or lucky enough. Many big companies were started by young people that ended their education earlier and started their businesses, all thanks to having an amazing concept. They were not always successful since the beginning but they were always aiming for their goal, and that’s why they're at the top of the market. Of course, not all the companies have such history. Presented ideas are very original and I would never come up with such ideas. 4 of them are clever but the last one is stupid, at least for me. Never in my whole life would I tattoo my face for money even if they would offer me a million dollars. Maybe one day I will come up with an amazing idea and start my own business but right now I don’t have anything inmy mind that could make me rich.

  75. My first thought after finishing reading is "Really terrible that after graduating from Oxford, you sell your face to earn money ". I thought that after finishing such a good university you can do something more ambitious. The only example that I liked was the jewelry store. Despite you have a broken heart, at least a full wallet :)
For the rest of the examples, I think that they're really strange ways to earn. In my opinion, the labor market is so diverse that you don't have to tattoo your face to have a decent life.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think selling any kind of goods can be good reasonable business as long as people want to buy them and as long as it is moral and legal. Unmoral would be selling something that wasn’t this what it supposed to be. Although I believe selling any part of human body is humiliating and it’s usually illegal. I think the guys that sold their faces as advertising space did it for fun and they can stop as they want, I hope. Otherwise it is stupidity. In my opinion the woman who put on auction her own forehead was very thoughtless. Luckily the auction wan a company and she had to tattoo only the advertisement. It could be something worse. I think 10 thousand dollars are not too much amount of money to provide better future to her son and I’m afraid that her son won’t be grateful for that, on the contrary he may feel ashamed when he is older.

  77. Selling yourself face, selling dirt, producing fake deer urine, running "the shop of broken heart", selling your own imagine to somebody could tatoo something what he want... Every of these ideas is for me height of folly. Seriously people are so desperate to do something like these? I understand that part of them don't have money for their needs, but I think that there is a many of different ways for making a living. And maybe... maybe a main goal for these people was doing somenthing quirky. But then we shouldn't wonder if it was ok or not.

    ReplyDelete
  78. In my opinion doing something is always better than doing nothing. I appreciate that someone can have an original idea for earning money. But... these ideas are really strange and stupid. ALTHOUGH "if something is stupid and it works => it isn't stupid. Nevertheless, I believe that a better idea to make money is ...hmm... for example giving private lessons - it can be helpful for others and we can learn a lot during this time.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think that every of this ideas is interesting and can be reasonable. If every of these people wants to do it why we should say that their idea is unresonable. People may do many things for earning money and we can't forbit them doing it. As for me we can do anything we want for gaining money, only if it won't make any damages.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Well... Another proof that people are just... weird? Maybe I'm not open enough for new... trends, but it's just bizzare. I can't imagine that instead of trying to find a proper job you can just sell your skin and become a living ad. That woman from the auction should be happy that she has only that tatoo, and not for example a picture. At least those guys from Ireland are donating money for charity and theirs product could be at least usefull. And this jewelery shop is creative to be honest. But I just can't accept skin selling - it's terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  81. For me there are more traditional ways to earn, but if someone want sell skin - why not, it is his face, company can "make" creative commercial, nobody hurts. Of course it is more "conventional" if you can choose what you will have on face, but on the other if you don't care about your appearance auction could help earn more.

  82. This presentation is attractive because it show quite an unconventional way to earn money. I generally find these kind of making a living as a stupid and weird except for one of them. The wildest is “Buy my face” from my point of view. If people sell own body, especially face, they must be incredibly desperate. Walking the streets with slogan which was painted on face is unimaginable for me. These days advertisements are everywhere, but come on. Entirely other issue when someone need money from baby. I believe that for baby people can do everything.
“The shop of broken hearts” is compelling idea. Certainly, a number of women with broken heart want do away with engagement ring and it is a good idea for a business. Nevertheless, enriching on human misery is quite harsh.

  84. 1) The presentation is about some different ways of making money. To my mind, the best idea of the presentation is that in the modern world there are more different ways of making money. The presentation proves that today people should not work hard to make money, but they can simply use creativity and make money even not entering the home. I think that the idea “buy my face” is not only an easy way of making money, but also it is a new type of marketing. This method attracts peoples’ attention and is rather original and profitable way to make living. There are also some disadvantages connected with this idea such as possible skin problems. That is why a person should be attentive before choosing this way of making money.
    2) To my mind, an example of weird idea to make a living is the idea named “A tattoo for the baby”. The main hero of the idea understands that it is rather bad way to make living. That is why I can say that this idea depends on the person’s attitude to money. Making such kind of tattoo, a person spoils his face, which may be contrary to religious norms etc. To my mind, it is not a good way to make living even if a person does it for somebody else.

  85. These ideas show many creative ways to earn money, some of them are weird and a little terrifying for example tattoo on forehead. Of course everyone can do with own face what he/she want, but it’s terrible to be advertisement something to the end of live. It’s worrying that some people are in that situation that they decide do something like that. But bags with native land for emigrants – that’ s really creative, personally for me it’s surprise that people use it during a funeral.

  86. I think every of presented ideas are good in their simplicity. Some people want to earn money as soon as posible and in the easiest way. I don't want to judge them, because everybody should have right to having their own conception of being rich. However, in my opinion the best business was created by Pat Burk and Alan Jenkins. They perfectly know their clients and their needs - one of them is to reduce longing for the beloved homeland. Once I heard about "Rent a Friend". It's dedicated to people who don't have real friends, but they really wanted to. I think that's very sad, but for some it's necessary.

  87. in my opinion there is no such a stupid or bad idea if you can earn some money that you need. I think some ideas for business in history, now are very popular and there is no surprise that people doing it. same thnig here. at first glance it seems to be weird idea to earn some money but maybe in the future some of them will be normal.
For me the most orginal way to make a living now is to run an account on Instgram. It is insane that by publishing some photo you can get thousand PLN.

  88. The engagement ring market idea was you could say... "brilliant" in my opinion, but the one with tattoo on a forehead seemed a little ridicolous to me. Anyway, as wise person has once told me; "It's not about working, it's about making money" and then another, not so wise has said; "If something is stupid but it works, it means that it is not that stupid", I believe that there's close to no bad way of earning money (as long as its legal, mind you). The job market today is full of everything, and it often takes that one seemingly ridicolous yet bright idea to fills some niche, that can bring you high above all others in today's world...Don't tattoo your forehead though.

  89. This article made me both laugh and cry. Some of the ideas just seem a bit silly, like buying irish ground because it's the 'lucky' ground. However some of them were just straight up terrifying. I can understand that some people might really need some extra money and are willing to tattoo their own face for the profit. But i can't believe there are companies cruel enough to make people do that! If i owned that online casino, i would win the auction only to tell that woman she doesn't need to do anything and that we'll give her the money she needs. I think this would be a better advertisement.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think all of these are really weird, but my "favourite" is "tattoo for the baby". I have heard about situations like this one . I believe that one of the weirdest jobs is drying paint watcher. Someone who earns a living watching paint dry. He/she have to spend his/her days painting sheets of cardboard to test how long the new paint mixes take to dry.

  91. These examples show that today you don’t have to work hard to earn some money, you just have to be creative. I find the idea of selling face really innovative and smart. I’m talking about Ross Harper’s and Ed Mouse’s idea. That kind of painting extremely draws attention and, like we all know, people are moving all the time so they have huge audience every day. At the end of a day you can wash it off, it’s not permanent, so there is nothing to be afraid of. I wouldn’t do it but for me it seems to be perfect advertisement and I’m not surprised that someone decided to try that. But when we talk about Kari Smith I don't understand how she could tattoo an advertisement on her forehead. I just can’t imagine living with this stupid ad on my face for the rest of my live. In addition I’m convinced that 10000$ is a way to little for anadvertisement which will last at least 20 years. I’m just curious what will she do when she spend all the money because her chances for finding a job with this tattoo are so small.

  92. Of course these examples are very interesting, maybe some weird but if it works... In my opinion the best idea is selling parts of Ireland because it is quite simple and made for tourists - all we know that tourists during a journey buy a lot of strange things so in my opinion it is very creative (I am thinking about selling Polish ground... - of course it is a joke).

  93. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. " Wisława Szymborska said that you are dead if you stop marveling. This post makes me feeling more lively. I think that is another proof, that human creativity has no borders. But in fact as far as I'm concerned only few of them are weird. The idea of having dirt from yours land with you was very popular during the time of great discoveries. Sailors often takes dirt in sacks with them to the new worlds. Fake deer urine - doesn't sound very strange, it is normal thing to use pheromones during the hunt. Rest is quite wired. To sell your own forehead? I think that is unethical. Unwanted diamonds, who will buy them if they are unwanted. Those two student had briliant idea to pay off their arrears, but personally I wouldn't go that far to sell my image.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I feel like even though most of these ideas may seem strange, some make sense, for example the website reselling unwanted diamonds, I don’t really understand why some of the people who wrote comments before me had a problem with that, an engagement ring is a normal object same as clothes, phone, tv or furniture, that we sometimes buy from the second hand online, also the name of the website is great. Until now, I used to think that any creative idea concerning production of something or doing something to earn money is okay, but now I can’t say that, there are some too crazy ideas like tattooing your face. These make me believe that not all ways to earn are right. The most astonishing to me is not the fact that someone in need of money let somebody tattoo a website adress on their face, the most awful thing about that is that somebody paid the other person to do it! On the other hand, for example the idea of selling irish dirt is quite nice to me, some people are big patriots and the soil from their home country may be an important symbol of their love for the place. Also, I am not a fan of the idea of haunting nowadays, as we do not need to do it, but simply the product that is a deer urine scent, is something creative and not that crazy, it’s at least not as disgusting as the idea of using the real deer urine, which would also be tricky to get.

  96. It always amazes me what people can do to make a living. The presented ideas are extremely weird, especially the one with tattoo. All of them seems original, but none of them seem reasonable. When it comes to other weird ways to make living... I heard about pet-taxi drivers. For example, busy owners who don't always have time to pick their pets up from the kennel or drop them at the vet's office are using their services.

    1. I must admit that some of the ideas are really weird and extravagant but money is the best motivation what was proved in the text. Creativity is the key to earn money in this world dominated by capitalism. Anyway I think that idea with tattoo on the forehead is extremely stupid and I don't want to even think about the whole pain you need to stand and then live with that tattoo the whole life. I appreciate the concept with rings and diamonds, it really appeals to me. The idea of selling ground shows pretty smart way of selling the culture and how marketing may work if you know the market. The other ideas I would rather call boring and not outstanding.

  97. I think that putting your own forehead on auction is a stupid idea. They paid her only 10k$ for a permanent tattoo. She wanted to provide a better future to her baby but I don't think that you can do that with 10 thousand $, instead the other kids will bully her child because of this strange tattoo that it mother has.

  98. I feel like all the ideas mentioned in the post are unique and quite smart in their own ways. Except of course for the tattoo one. Since you’re only getting paid once and the tattoo will be with you for the rest of your life. Especially on your forehead. I’d say it’s not worth any money, and especially it is not worth doing it for 10 thousand dollars. Aside from that, all the other methods are quite smart. Reselling unwanted engagement rings is a great idea, since a lot of people could probably use some extra cash, especially after a breakup. Scents of deer urine… well if there is a demand there is supply. Same goes for selling soil of the native land. Advertising on your face is like tattoo, but it’s not permanent, so I’d say it’s not such a bad idea.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
