How does new technology affect our emotions?

Does new technology make our life  easier than 20 or even 10 years ago? When something is quite simple to do than we usually have notion that we are able to finish activity. Finished activity equals satisfaction, satisfaction equals positive emotions. It is one of a million example. I think the person who get the smartphone-applications idea is a genius. It is so helpful in common life that I can’t find appropriate words to describe it. App’s makes me happier.

I showed you positive side of it but unfortunately there are many hidden traps too. One “trap” which I actually have in my mind is new technology overwhelm. When our senses receives and transmits to much to our brains we feel overwhelm. Everyone of us were in a situations where in a one second we had to pick up the vibrating phone, pause mp3-player, pay for a book and try to concentrate on it with blinking and loud advertisements which surrounded us. There were too much impulses to stay in perfect condition. Is it positive? Definitely NO! It is another side of a topic, the negative side.

I think something what we can’t control and what has some influence on us has negative effects on us. New technology is controllable because “Homo sapiens” made it but not everybody have opportunity or assertiveness to control it.
My opinion is new technology is a “tool” which I use to make my life lighter, simpler and happier. When this tool becomes my enemy I just turn it off what is my way to control technology which has bad influence on my emotions.
I try to use new technology in proper-good way to make somebody mood better what has excellent influence on me.
Describe your point of view and describe your case what way are you able to keep your emotions in balance or what way somebody did make you surprise/pain using new technology.

  1. I like this World with New Technology. Everything is so close and easy. I like because it is visual and in my hand. But it is too speed. I need to know a lot of programs to be free in that world, and I know that it is impossible to go step by step this technology. I am trying to spend a lot of time in Nature, reed books, do Art and meet my friends to keep my mind in good condition, to stay happy.

  2. I also think that new gadgets make me happier but sometimes I notice bad sides of modern technology. For example some time ago I always knew where my friends are. Today I have to send several messages to meet with someone. I think without New Technology, people were happier in different way. They were spending a lot of time together without using sociable portals. Sometimes I really would like to return to these days.

  3. I think that these new gadgets make my life more easier and happier. I have a permanent contact with my close friends, family. Moreover I can be online on my gmail, facebook profil all of the time. However sometimes it makes me nervous because in a one second I had to pick up the vibrating phone, pause Iphone and pay for a water. I haven't any problem to meet really often with my best friend because I think that nothing can replace contact face to face.

  4. In my opinion new technology affects on our emotions very much. Sometimes our mood depends on it. New gadgets make our life easier and convenient. Nowadays people are addicted to them. They use them all the time and can't go anywhere without them. Some new applications or games give us so much joy. We relax from everyday life and hard decisions. We can also get information very fast and just everywhere we want. It is good for the time that we don't lose control. I am a bit addicted to the mobile phone and I know how annoying it is for other people, but I still remember how important it is to meet friends or family, not just talk by Facebook or messages.

  5. I don't think that app's make me happier but I adree it's usefull and fun. However we schould be very carefully if we are addictied to them. I think sometimes we use this app's even if we can find something without this.

  6. My way is to not use social networks like facebook or something. For me using that kind of platforms is killing the real social ties between people. I prefer real talking than chatting or something. I don’t like people who shows everything in internet. Person is always more interesting when you don’t know everything, including people favorite cake, drink or meal on breakfast.

  7. I think that new technology significantly affect our emotions. How and in what extent it depend to what kind of person we are. New technology gives us a lot of entertainment which make people happy. Mobile phone and Internet make communication easier. We can talk with many people every time and everywhere but it don’t replace face to face contact.

  8. About a year ago my netbook was pretty much wrecked and crushed by (I will call it posterior only because this is certainly place to curse) someone who actualli sit down on it on my table in the library. Aside from pure wrath I have felt at the moment, I had to return to my old computer. I fortunately recovered most of my data, but I'll tell you: going back to computer from 2001 was experience that is best to be described by comparison I have formed. Imagine that in one short moment your brain got older about 60 years. Using even something as simple as e-mail client was taking ages, I had to turn off most of my programs just to compile simple piece of software and if I tried to open pdf with homework assignment and forgot to turn off all other programs running at the moment... system failure was imminent.
This story is not really on topic, but consider this: because there is almost no software that is made for older computers you have pretty much two options: upgrade in regular intervals all nescessary hardware or preparing for life among Amish people. This is concern that should also be pointed out in the presentation.
But to answer query in the presentation: I don't think I have ever got overwhelmed by information. But on the other hand I use facebook rarely and I do not have a smartphone. Mostly because I do not need to. It is like very expensive for its abilities computer that can be used as a phone. But overall in my case, it would be imposible to do anything related to study or work without computer. And to be honest I am not happy about it, but there is no solution that I alone can make. My biggest problem is the fact that I don't think that is even one academic level scientific publisher that still emits anything on paper.
But I agree with all my heart: technology is a tool, therefore it has ceased to give benefit it must be tossed away.

  9. I have to recognize that I'm a bit addicted to social networks, I have to check them everyday, but I think this is not improving my social life at all.
I think apps and tecnology make our life easy, but they can take us away from reality, among other things. For example, the other day I was at a disco and I could see some people chatting with their mobiles phones whereas they were dancing. This occurs in a lot of places, we often pay more atention to virtual people than to real people that surround us.
Technology is indispensable to science and many other fields, but it can affect dangerously in the behaviour of people.
I recomend a very good serie, called "Black Mirror", that talk about how technology could affect our lifes and our relationships in a next future.

  10. I believe that in this day, new technology is very useful and helps us in our daily lives. With modern phones, I Pads, we can have constant access to the Internet, the possibility of constant contact with others. I think that modern technology has a big impact on us. People are dependent primarily on the phone. I think, that all of us can't imagine to leave the house without a phone! Also very popular became social networking sites to which we look practically every day. I think that the computers, the phones are very useful if you use them wisely. I don't agree with the opinion of others that through phones we have less contact with friends.

  11. I agree whit most of other people. But I think that In my case the technology make my life easier but I’m not sure about happiness which is caused by new technology. Nowadays, New Technologies change our life, instead of going to library we can find information which we need without leaving home and ect. But, on the other hand, I think that actually a lot of people overuse technology and this situation is dangerous. Such people should change this bed habit and try to find their happiness somewhere else.

  12. I think that all those gadgets we use are great. If they weren't, we wouldn't be using them. I find my smartphone very useful in many situations, when doing sports to track my progress, in a bus or subway when I want to listen to music, in a museum when I want to take a picture. It also makes it much easier to be in touch with other people and texting with friends always makes me happy.

  13. I also think that new technology makes our lifes much more easier. I don't have a smarphone or a tablet computer, but many of my friends do and I see that it is a very useful tool in everyday life (that's why I'm about to buy a smartphone). They use many apps or may connect to the Internect everywhere they are. I think this is great, but I also think that some people can become addicted to this technology. I just hope that I won't become dependent on these devices.

  14. In my opinion gadgets like smartphones are very helpfull and makes small things in our lifes easier. But it is not like that it is harder to live without it. Unfortunately more and more people get addicted nowadays to gadgets. I wasn't having a smartphone for a long time, and finally six months ago I bought one, because there was a special offer. I don't understand people, who pay a lot for things like that, and get addicted to using it all the time. That are only material things and we shoudn't be so emotional about it and get excited.

  15. In my opinion technology make us sometimes helpless. Lots of people could not find their way without GPS device and using a paper map would be practically impossible for them.
On the other hand lots of us is so focused on their smartphones that we lose connection to the real world. Simple day in subway: about 80% of people in looking at the screens of their phones that they even don’t know who is taking a seat next to them.
Of course the advantages of modern technology are undeniable and development of it cannot be stopped. It can only go forward, so people could be more and more helpless without technology.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think there is only advantages of new technologies and I can't see any disadvantages. I don't understand how technology can make someone upset... Ok, when it shows you blue screen or shuts down without any reason, then it's annoying. But it is only proof that technology can reach more

  17. In my opinion it is true that new technology influences our lifes and make the life easier. We can do almost everything and everywhere. That's good side of technology. But there are worse. For example chasing for better and better equipment. If we don't have something new and better we may feel excluded- and then depressed. Moreover we become more stupid because of thechnology- because don't have to think- machines are doing most of things for us- and it is bad.

  19. It's easy to get hooked on new technologies. For example: Facebook. In substance this page relies on our deepest desires, our base instincts. Everyone is partially narcisstic, everyone is little bit exhibitionist. But Facebook brings it out. That is very dangerous, when some people show their whole life in internet.
Moreover technologies have huge impact on our characters, our brain. It's to early to explain this changes. But they develop.

  20. I don't agree with you, Piotr. In my opinion there is many disadvantages of new technologies. Increasigly it substitute for reality. Because of them, people lose touch with nature, devote more and more time for new gadgets. Moreover, many people can't to function without their gadgets. I try to limit my contact with them to minimum. If I would have choice between an electronic and a classic book or newspaper, I definitely would choose the second way. Of course, I see a lot of positive sides of new technology, but I'm not uncritical.

  21. Technology have a lot of advantages and disadvantages, for me is a good way to be happy in modern world. But we should remember about tradition, if we forget about it will be trouble for our civilization.
I have a good example of technological progress, in factories we have a ordinary employments if we replace them for a modern machine, they loss a job. It isn’t a comfortable situation for them.
I think we must have a balance between modern and tradiction.

  22. Undoubtedly, technology makes our lifes simplier. We can do assignments quickly, find information, which without today's possibilities offered by technology, we could never came across. What is more, we can keep in touch with many friends at once, for example via facebook. Or we can buy online some prodacts, which are on the other end of the world. Without hesitation we can say our life is much lighter than our parents. We can do many tasks quicklier and better because of wealth of informations and sources. But, on the other hand, this accumulation of stimuli could be everwhelming and thus we can suffer from impaired concentration and other mental problems. Many people are unable to live without facebook and some applications, which influenced their lifes and emotions badly. If you find out that proportions between your real life and online life are not balanced properly, it's a signal that some needs to be done with it.

  23. I think that new technology can be very profitable for us. We can use it for entertainment, which makes us happier, and for job and learning, like, for example, an easy way to find some information. But we can also get addicted to it.
Honestly, I’m not able to keep all of my emotions in balance- I’m a very emotional person and have a lot of problems with various feelings.
The worst side of a usage of technology is for me a reduction of direct contact. I had a few situations, when I wanted to see some people directly, but they only wrote to me messages in the Internet or by a phone.

  24. I agree that technology has an inpact on our emotions. i don't think it changes our feelings but only changes the way we express them. Personaly it doesn't matter to me if I receive real smile or :) in text message
i think technology really helps people to stay in touch with friends and family. No more queuing at the post office, no more expensive stamps or post cards...Contacting with people was never faster or more simple than now.
Disadvantage of virtual communication is that sometimes people cannot find appropriate words to expres their feelings while face to face contact allows non verbal sings.

  25. I think that technology makes me more stressfull, but I know that I need technology. I have mobile without wifi, because I know that I can't control all. If I would have wifi, I could check my mail and facebook verry often, to often.
The happiest I am when I spend time on a village, in Mountain or on a scout camp in a forest. In this place you can live this day, you don't have to think about tomorow and future. It really makes my happy and I feel that life is easy and beautifull.

  26. As for me technology is really nice improvement of life. With mobile internet modem or wi-fi i can find any information or way to solve any problem (if it is possible, of course) in almost every place i can be. Of course overdosing technologies is always bad, but every thing can be overdosed, even chocolate. So, summing up - if you use mobile technologies wise - it's very, very useful.

  27. I feel sorry about people pernamently connected by technology to their work. I think that constant contact leave them feeling exhausted. Fatigue is only part of the problem. There are a number of ways that technology can have an impact on our physical and emotional health.
Many PC useres has a problem with what’s called "computer vision syndrome". It causes burning and irritation. Our ears suffering same like eyes, what affect our comfrot.

JJk sad something important about overdosing technologies. We need kind of gold mean. Today, technologies are opportunity, not threat. We have to learn how to use them wisely.

  29. Here is a fragment of Sunshine expression: "I like this World with New Technology. Everything is so close and easy. I like because it is visual and in my hand. But it is too speed."

I totally agree with this sentences. But...

We live in times where changes are commonplace. From day to day, everything is changes. How to find ourselves in that? We must know our limits and we have to remember what is the most important in live, without technology.

  30. I think that the new technology help people in work, education, contacts with friends from abroad.

I think that new technologies have bad side. Many people lose contact with the world when they have smartphone in hand, are see only wirtual world. when new technology appeared in my neighborhood I saw that my friends contact only via internet (facebook).second causes unemployment, in factories robots substitutes of the laborers.
Deduced technology is god for live or technical progress or economic and entertainment, but Only if we can use it well

  31. I am absolutely a technology geek. I have an android phone and it make me calm.
I am a person which must be online with my e-mail, sms and facebook (I have control on my job's fanpage on facebook). I had a friend which hide my phone, and that makes me really angry. I don't like when people are not trying to understand my need for contact with the world.
There was 2 weeks when I had to use phone telephone without internet. It was a nightmare. People was trying to ask me about some things sending me links and photos and I couldn't even check it. I could't also check the map, or bus, it made me angry.
With my smartphone I'm more calm and confident.

  32. Of course new technology affects on our emotions very much! Without smartphones, tablets, etc. communication between us would be more limited. We would not have so many opportunities for development, production, transformation. The fact that at any moment we can call our friends or see their photos on Facebook brings them to us. We feel safe when we see what is happening to them. We have control over our world - at any time we check the websites - news, weather, everything. Personally, I like the gadgets, I don't part with my smartphone :)

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
