What makes people happy ?

                       What makes people happy ?

If we talk about happy we must for the beginning ask a question what is HAPPINESS? I think this isn’t such an easy question as we could think. For every person happy means something different. I think that it depends on our life purpose. When I think about happiness I see a big box with superscription „Happy” where everyone can put whatever he wants, and everyone has his own box. But sometimes we don’t know how to get this box and what we really need to have inside it.
I think that there are some universal values that we all need:

1.       Good health – maybe in everyday life we aren’t aware how it is important to feel good and be healthy but when something is going bad or some of our immediate family is terminal ill we start to understand that when we don’t have health it’s hard to be happy.
2.       Love – I think this is more important even than health because when we are unhealthy something that can make us feel happy is being loved by someone and the feeling that we are not alone. When we are amidst  people who love us we can bear the hardest calamities. A simple strategy for happiness is to accept social invitations whenever possible, or to initiate social gatherings with family and friends. Face-to-face meetings make us more happy than online networking, especially because hugging and other forms of physical touch releases endorphins. So use technology to set up meetings, but get out there and hobnob the old-fashioned way.

3.       Giving to others- many people testify that what lifted them from depression was helping others. Whether by volunteering at a homeless shelter, holding the hand of a terminally ill patient, raising funds for charity, or tutoring children from poor families, all forms of giving take us out of ourselves and set us back on the path to normalcy and happiness.
4.       Religion -A person’s specific religions belief or denomination does not seem to matter as much as the fact that she beliefs in something. Religion provides a personal creed, a direction in life, and this sense of purpose contributes to a person’s well-being and happiness. If we believe in something we can have hope that our life has sense.
5.       Meaningful work - we are happiest when we make  activities that make us forget ourselves and lose track of time. Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi calls that the “flow” experience. Flow can be achieved when making music, gardening, playing with children, practising sports, writing, or even pouring over a spreadsheet. According to Csikszentmihalyi, doing what you do best is the best way to achieve flow.
Of course that list can be endless and everyone can change it. Happines is something very important and this is why psychologist do a lot of researches to find out how to make people happier. There is very common "positive psychology" movement that emphasizes people's strengths and talents instead of their weaknesses is rapidly closing the gap, says University of Pennsylvania psychologist Martin E. P. Seligman, author of the new book, Authentic Happiness. The work of Seligman and other experts in the field is in the early stages, but they are already starting to see why some people are happy while others are not:
The happiest people spend the least time alone. They pursue personal growth and intimacy; they judge themselves by their own yardsticks, never against what others do or have. "Materialism is toxic for happiness," says University of Illinois psychologist Ed Diener. Even rich materialists aren't as happy as those who care less about getting and spending.
For the end I would like to show you some story about mother who wanted to show her son what is important in his life I think that this conversation is really illuminating.

“Recently my husband and I started a list of everything we want our children to know and know how to do before they go out into the world on their own. The list contains everything from good money management to how to make yourself happy to how to respect others and so on.
To meet one of those objectives I walked through a mall with my 10-year-old. We passed life-sized ads of watches, clothes and toys, all poised on models and scenery that seem to portray an ideal. They all scream the subtle message, "If only you had this... You would be happy."
I pointed to the five-foot-tall ad showcasing a gorgeous watch, "Would that watch make you happy?" I asked. "No," he answered with a smile. This was not our first conversation about happiness and its causes.
"Would it make me happy?" I asked, mocking desire.
"No." He squeezed my hand knowingly.
"What about those toys over there. Would they make you happy?"
"Well, maybe just for a minute," he answered with a laugh.
"So if I bought you enough toys to last you all the minutes of your life, would you always be happy?"
He entertained the idea thoughtfully. "I don't think so."
"Why not?"
"Because it seems like I might get tired of them after a while."
Smart boy. I guess he has been listening.
"So how can you be happy? Where does happiness come from?"
He turned to me and patted his heart. "Happiness is in here, Mama."
"Remember that, my friend. There are thousands of people walking around here with a lot of bags in their hands. And I would guess that more than a few of them are buying with the hope that these things will make them happy." He looked around the mall and I thought I detected a note of panic cross his heart. Children are often so much wiser than adults.
"Can I make you happy?" I asked with a smile.
He met my eyes directly. "You make me happy," he smiled and hugged me hard.
"So where does happiness come from? Does it come from me?" I watched his focus turn inward, searching. After a moment he pulled back and patted his heart again.
"That's right, my love. You must always remember this, because the world will try to tell you differently. It's up to you to remember the secret."
He was quiet for a while afterward and I hope what I heard in the silence was the sound of seeds taking root.”

  3. I'd suggest not asking such essential questions like the first one so easily, because at the bottom of peoples heart there are lots of burdens they have to live with, and therefore if they're happy at the moment it doesn't mean that their answer to this question will be unambigously positive.
What makes me happy is the true happiness of my closest ones. It's also when I can do something I like and succeed in it. The tips given in the presentation are quite usefull for everyone, nevertheless I think that for each of us happiness means something else. At least because some of us are more egoistic, and some are altruists.

  6. I can't directly answer if I am happy. Almost everyday there are moments that I feel happy for even little things but I always aspire to achieve something more important that can make me happy for longer. I can find happiness e.g when I have an opportunity to travel. It's always good time to enjoy the moment and don't think about everyday issues. I think there are no universal tips that can make people happy. Everyone is different and there are various things that make people happy.

  7. I think that it is really difficult to say if I am really happy. I am happy when everything in my life goes well but sometimes I don't have causatives to feel really happy. I am happy when I don't have troubles so it is not often. My family also make me happy. I don't have any tips to give somebody advice what you should do to feel good because people are too various. It's impossible.

  8. Yes, I’m enormously happy. Several week ago, I was tired every day, feel overworked and without any significant goals. Then I decided that I couldn’t live longer in this way and I had to change something in my life. At first I decided to sleep at least 6 hours. At the same time I started doing thinks that I want to do. If I was in a mood to watch stupid romantic comedy I just did it. When I thought that chocolate ice cream would make me happier I ate cup or two ;p Initially, I was scared that I wouldn’t have enough time for normal duties but soon it turned out that this concern was unfounded. Since I changed way of living, I have been rested and full of positive energy. I set out fix some small deadline for my work. Study have come more easily to me. In my opinion if you want be happy you have to be good for yourself. Probably it means something different for all of us. However, it is important to start with a small thinks that surrounding you in your daily routine.

I always try to see glass half filled, than half empty. In my opinion the perfect key to be happy is to don't care about bad things and we should always look on the bright sight of life

  10. I am not sure if I am really happy or not, but I think I cannot say that I am unhappy. I have loving parents, I have a place to live, I am free and I can study at university. These things are really important to me and saying that I my life is unhappy would be symptom of ingratitude. But I haven't reached real happiness yet - recently, I am feeling a bit lonely and adrift. My close friends are far away (one of them is in China now) and I don't have time even for writing an e-mail to them. Moreover, I am worried about my future and I wonder if my choice of studies was right. Also, I do not have time for my hobbies because studying takes most of my free time. This is why I am not fully satisfied with level of my happiness.

What makes me happy? I love spending time with my friends and family, they always raise my spirits. When I am really sad and frustrated I take a nap, long bath or eat something nice (sweets or fruits). I love music so if I do not have time for full relaxation I turn on the radio when doing homework or housework, it really cheers me up.

There is no universal tip that ensures us full happiness but I would recommend looking for it in building relationships with other people - I do not believe that loner can be really happy.

  11. Everything depends on my mood, now I think that I'm quite happy. Me adn my family are healthy, we have everything what we need so I don't see any cases to be sad. But e/g when the exams are comming I'm getting really sad, stressed and don't feel well. But usually music is the best way for me to keep me in good mood. thats why I don't have sad songs on ipod, because it's putting me in a melancholy. My friends, my family, good weather, holidays, music and shopping makes me happy. There is no recipe to be happy, you should do everything with pleasure not with complusion and pursue yourself.

  12. I'm happy a lot :) Happiness is healthy and safety of my family. It is the most important. I'm happy because I have home where I want to come back everyday. There are people which they listen to me and they talk to me. I know that they love me so much, I know that my happiness and smiling every day is significant for them. Always I can count on their help. I know that we cope with problems together without requestes.
What is more, I do meaningful work. I like my study. So far I'm happy with my choices. Of course, I'm scared of my future but my friends give me beautiful advices.

  13. I agree that happiness means something different for different people. I also think that staying in good health should make people happy, but people tend to forget how precious it is, and they complain about some meaningless things, though they have what is the most important. I consider myself happy, I have loving family, I'm healthy and my problems don't seem so big in comparison to other people's problems. My tip, not very original, would be: let's try not to worry about things if they are not really serious, and until they are certain. Sounds like cliche, but in reality it's very difficult to follow that idea, it demands a lot of strength.

  14. Most of the time I'm happy but sometimes I feel overwhelmed with my life. Generally I try to forget about sad and depressing things and just enjoy the moment, I always say to myself you have happy life, you don't have to worry, it usually helps but if not, I listen music, talk with my mum or friends, watch my favourite movies or watch some sitcomes. I don't have any universal tip for being happy, just don't let the bad memories or things get to your mind if they do, think about something that you love or eat a chocolate.

  15. First of all, smile on someone's face makes me happy, mainly my girlfriend or members of my family. I try to be more friendly for everyone. What's more some university or life success can be big reasons to be happy. On daily basis I'm quite optymist, i like speaking with people. I'm pleased with nature, my dogs so that's why I prefer spring more then others year seasons. In my opinion, each of preson has different sources of happiness, but all in all the smile from other people and doing something which we like is the best things to be happy.

  16. Yes, I'm happy. I just try to stay positive and see good thing even when something bad happens. I think that is a recipy for happiness. Everyone can have something personal that makes him or her happy. That depends on a person. But for sure it's hard to be in a good mood or be satisfied with life by seeing only bad things and being an pesimist. So my advice for everyone to stay positive no matter what happens in your life,

I think we are waiting to something big, but we should life for today. Good weather, a tasty meal, meetings with friends and boyfriend- these things make me happy. To enjoy a little things- this is my advise to be happy, but it's only my manner. I think every body has own advices to be happy.

  30. Am I happy?
It is difficult question, because firstly we should define what does this mean.
In my opinion to be happy it is generally to be reconciled with yourself, to accept your life (if its ok, if not, firstly changed this what is possible to change). Happiness is also know what you should do with your life and just do it.

  31. I think I am happy person. Well not everyday, but I feel good with myself and my life. If i have problem I'm trying to be optimistic. If we are healthy we have reason to smile, because not everybody is so lucky. The second important thing is someone who we love and who love us, so love around us like family, partner, best friends. Than we just need to do, what we like (for example dance, sing, build machines, riding a car). I am happy when I am dancing or spending time with people who are important to me. I think there is no universal tips. Everybody are different.. Maybe safety and close people, because everyone need to feel needed or loved.

  33. To my mind a universal method for being happy doesn't exist. My private recipe for being happy is quite simple - I do things that give me pleasure but don't hurt other. And what I consider personnally as a pleasure is love which I receive from my family but also simple things like a good movie, some comfort food, a walk in the park. Since it is not important what you do but how you think about it.

  34. As a Buddhist I don't consider happiness as a state of mind. If one day I will be able to say that I am happy, it could mean two things: one - I am actually dying and my life was a happy journey in seeking of enlightenment or just opposit, I failed and focused too much on happiness itself.
During life I am trying to find a good combination of making good karma and living a hedonistic life, because in the end, only present matters

  35. Am I happy? Such a weird question! Of course, I’m! I have probably everything to feel happiness. My sense of happiness is connected with my family, friends and generally everything which brings me enjoyable moments. I can’t imagine my life without my family which is the most important. Every time when I have an opportunity to have a rest, I spend it with my parents and siblings. It is so interesting that I have many passions as my brother. We get along very well that’s why I’m so glad that he can contribute to my good feeling. It cannot be denied that my friends make me happiness. I’m supported by them, I don’t hesitate because I know that every time I have problems, I can count on them. I’m emotionally related with my friend. It brings some satisfaction, contentment, fulfillment.
The best way to be happy is to be around positive people. Very important is to accept yourself. If you can’t accept your appearance, disadvantages or even personality, it is impossible to be happy. At first you have to begin with yourself.

  36. There are some days when I'm lying in my bed before I fall asleep and wondering if there is something I can change about my life to feel more happy. Sometimes the list I create is so long. The more you have, the more you want. So do we really need so many things to be happy or we just miss a thing in the pursuit of happiness?
Well, I find myself as a happy person. But I believe the happiness is only a state of mind and it depends on us. I get my happiness from other people. Loneliness is the worst enemy. The thing I most value in my life is my friends and family. I know I can deal with any adversity with their help. It's very important to have someone you can rely on.

Happy people are spontaneous, natural and real, they say what they think and feel, and aren’t concerned what others think of them. Being oneself makes one feel free and authentic. Think positive and don't compare yourself with other people. Just let it go and remember there is someone who is happy with less than you have. Be happy from now!

  39. The most serious mistake is to compare yourself to others all the time. Doing it, we always be frustrated and sad. Happiness comes from ability to see how lucky you are. You have to work very hard, but don't have to choose the hardest way in every cases. You have to be yourself, do what you really like, meet people who you really like to spend time with. Remember, our greates enemy is ourselves.

  40. I'am not happy. I was happy and I will be happy. But happyness is a moment in time. For me it's not a constant state, no - it's temporary state of mind. So I;am not happy at the moment but, who knows, I could be happy tomorrow. 'Whatmakes me happy' - it's like asking some on 'tell me how to live, you have one minute fo it' - it's imposible to answer. Everything can makes me happy, it depends on my mood and people around me. There os no universal tip, because the key to happyness is different for each person.

  41. For now, yes. What makes me happy is spending time with good friends and family, travelling and doing sports like jogging or calisthenics. Thinking that I'm able to see a lot things, which I've never seen before is quite amazing. I think there is no such thing like tip for happiness, because this emotion is for everyone an individual.

  42. I absolutely agree that "Materialism is toxic for happiness”; purchasing more and more thigs can make people only more miserable. The most difficult thing to do on the way to achieve happiness is realizing that we don’t have to achieve it, that we just need to be happy here and now. Happiness is the state of mind that allow us to derive satisfaction from everyday life, hobbies, good and even bad weather. Basically many small things can make us feel good, as far as we want to be happy.

  43. I don't think I'm happy, but I am sufficiently satisfied for now. I don't think I'll be happy for a long while because the real world is still clashing with my expectations, but I think that it's okay. I'm also a person who quickly loses interest and is always chasing after some new idea, and I don't think that I will ever be truly satisfied because part of me is a perfectionist. Therefor, I'm not sure if I'll ever be as happy as people think I should be.
Pleasant experiences bring up my mood and accomplishing tasks makes me feel content. I like hanging out with my friends, working with flowers or sketching, because doing those makes me feel accomplished. I like playing video games or watching silly sitcoms, but doing that makes me feel terrible afterwards, so I think of them more as escapism than an actual way of relaxing or improving my mood.
No, there is no universal tip because there is no universal understanding of happiness. There is a consensus as to what the word 'happiness' means, but I believe everybody actually feels it differently. It's like colours: they are categorised, but it's impossible to say if you see the exact same shade of blue as the person next to you. The closest I can get to a universal tip is to start listening to your own psyche and try to figure out what elates you.

  44. Generally I'm a happy person. Little things are most important in making me happy. Dinner or even phone call with friends or family is for me enough reason to have a good day. In my opinion that's very important to see a happiness in daily activities. Looking for something really special could be frustrating. ALso I'm trying to don't care about aspects which are without my influent. It's not worth to worry about.

  46. Yes, I consider myself as a happy person but like everybody I have also worse days. Lots of things can make me happy, it depends on the day and the situation. Sometimes it could be just a small talk which make my happy, sometimes it could be a success which I have achieved. Sometimes I am happy without any reason. Most affects my happiness is that I live in harmony with myself.
I don't think there is some universal tip that can make people happy. There are some thingss which can helpachievee the happiness but they don't guarantee that. It is always good to have a hobby, be interested in things, carry about yourself, your friends and family, rea books and have time to have a rest.

I have boyfrind who hug me and I can tell him everything. To my mind this things are the most important in our life.
I think that there is some universal tip that can make people happy. Religion is too important because when I am sad I can pray to God.

  48. Of course I'm happy! I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be happy. I appreciate every single thing in my life and I think we should always try to notice only positive things. So I can say that small and normal things make my happy, but not only. My friends, my family, my boyfriend are reasons to smile and be happy always. What is more, my studies are my hobby, so it couldn't be better. And I think that health, family, love and money can give happines to everyone.

  50. I've started to think about this hard question and in my opinion I'm happy person! I have very good relationship with my boyfriend, study at faculty which I choose and next year I;m going to start another one, I have true friends on which I can rely, I have my parents who love me so much, I have home, I have food, I have health. Yes, I'm true happy.
In my opinion people should spend more time on thinking what really make them happy, we shouldn't spend our time, minds or power only for material things which lat us be happy. We can't buy happiness!
Love, family, friendship, self-estimate, heath - these are the most important things. Of course other person can tell me I'm wrong and everyone will choose another things but truly these are the basics with which we can create all our life!
What to do to be happy? Let yourself feel like hppy person, don't look far for this, cover on the nearest things!

  53. There is no universal tip that can make people happy. It's caused by human's diversity of personalities. But at the same time, there are some things which make nearly everyone miserable, e.g. poverty, isolation, loneliness. So basically we might just say that the key to happiness is avoiding those issues.

  54. I think I'm quite happy. I'm trying to appreciate every good moment in my life and be grateful for that. I'm also trying to think, that every bad situation in my life happens for a reason and it will make me stronger in the future.
Meeting my friends and family makes me happy - I think that people and love are necessary for happiness. Also simple things like listening to music, dancing, eating or sunny weather make me happy.

Essential thing to be happy is to look for positive aspects in everything and to remember about all "things" that we have (and lots of people don't) - about having family, being healthy, having opportunity to study.

  55. To be honest I can't directly answer if I am happy. It is hard question cause everyday happens something wrong. I think people can not be in 100 procent happy. The biggest happiness gives me playing with my dog or meeting with my sister. I believe that physical activity makes people happier. When I do exercise, I forget about whole world and it is really relaxing.I really recommend stretching and yoga.

  56. I don't think that happiness can be a permanent phenomenon. For the most of the time people just live. They are not sad and not happy. They just exist. And that's why happiness is something unique and special. Different events, moments, things can make us happy for some time. I would say that friends and hobbies make me happy. I like spending time with people, helping them and doing things which are interesting for me because it gives me satisfaction. I don't think that there is some universal tips that can make people happy. Everyone is different and different things will bring happiness for them.

  57. Everyone defines happiness differently. There is no universal hierarchy of values in people's lives. For one person the most important thing giving happiness is money and for somebody else it's helping poor people.
At the moment, I think I can call myself a happy person. Of course, there are many things I would like to have or change but I'm just 20 so everything is ahead me. It's difficult now to firmly say "I'm happy'.
What gives me most happiness is people around. I love staying with cheerful bright people.

  58. I think being happy is a choice of every person. If someone thinks that he is unlucky and his misfortune is caused just by external factors, he will never be happy. Lucky people find reasons for a smile and optimism in every moment and every place. I remember one research, about which I read an article one time. It turned out that people who consider themselves happy are much more likely to notice a 5-zloty coin lying at the door than pessimists. As we can see, happiness favors those who believe in them!

  59. I think I'm a quite happy person. I don't need a lot to be happy - I enjoy little things and I think that's the recipe for the happy life. So let's look around and find something for you!

  60. Yes, I am happy person because I believe that we can achieve everything when we smile and be cheerful. I love meeting with my friends and family. The relationship with others are very important for me because I can rely on them. In addition I interested in photography and improving my skills makes me really happy. I think that universal tip can be find out your hobby to become a happy person. Doing something with pleasure is helpful to relax and forget about our common problems.

  61. In my opinion, I am a very happy person.
I am healthy, I have a wonderful family, a loving boyfriend, many devoted friends, the opportunity to learn and travel. Is there anything more important in life?
I enjoy every day that can survive. Discouraged advice on being happy ...... Let me think. Maybe ice cream;) And seriously just love and do what you love.

  62. I can't say that I'm happy all the time. I'am rather grateful for all things in my life, but very often, I'am too tired or physically exhausted to say that I'm happy. What makes me happy? Actually, everything. My work, my studies, my family, my boyfriend and my passion especially. Even the bad weather, I love for example springs storms or rain. I think there isn't one good tip to makes everyone happy, but it can be a few tips that makes people feel better or happier, like: do more sports, take care of your health or eat better.

  63. It seems to me that there is not one, universal and simple method to make all people happy in the world. Everyone feels happiness in an individual way and everyone enjoys something else - from entertainment, shopping, money, ambitious work, to interpersonal relations and family. It makes me happy when I give presents to someone and make me happy, and also when I am among my relatives. I am also happy about good cuisine and, above all, travels.

    ReplyDelete
  64. In my opinion the first question is very complex one as different people see happiness in different ways. People by happiness mean different things and they can easily misunderstand themselves. What is more happiness is a state of mind and even when people say that they are happy at that particular moment in time I don't believe that they really are in every minute of their life.

Universal tip that can make people happy doesn't exist and people who write about them can only satified themselves in most of the cases.

  65. Yes, I’m definitely a happy person. I’m doing everything accordingly to my passion, and in my opinion it’s a key to be a happy. I love literature, culture of East (especially Russia and Caucasus) and it’s my daily routine, thanks to which I know that this is my way. There isn’t any universal tip that can make people happy. Everyone has your own way. One of us could be a great IT specialist, second one – professor at the university and third – great sportsman. Of course – healthy lifestyle, exercising and meeting with people could help us, but it’s a temporary happiness – not the real one. If you want to be happy, just start with yourself – there is the key.

  66. The story was nice and true. Things can makes us happy but only for "a minute". I'm happy person. I have a loving family and friends, I do what I want and I study according to my interests. I think that family, love, freedom makes me happy. Also good health makes me happy, when I will be sick I won't be happy. I Think there is no universal tip that can makes us happy. For everyone happines means something different. For some people happines is when they are healthy, for some when they have a girlfriend or wife, and for some when they are rich.

  67. In this moment of my life I'm happy. I think that a lot of events in our lifes can cause hapiness. People are happy when everything goes well in their lifes. For me most important is health of my family and friends. Everybody has their own definition of happiness, so I don't think there is one universal tip for everybody.

  68. I think I am a happy person. I live among a many of marvelous people, who like me and I like them. I have a loving family, great friends. What else makes me happy? I work on something I love - my studies are my passion. I can meet more and more peoples, I can learn from them many of valuables skills, so I can advance.
In my opinion there's no an universal tips that can make people happy. I think that everybody should find it yourself, because we are alike but not identical. Each one have his own priorities in his life, each one needs something else to happiness.

  69. I totally agree with the statement that being happy depends on our life purpose. Because there is no universal rule how to be happy, everyone should find their own method to feel satisfied with their lives. What's more, I think that only we are choosing to be happy or not and we should learn to enjoy every little thing. According to this presentation, I think that I am a happy person because I am healthy, I have got loving and caring family, several passions and one of them is music. All these things are my key to happiness.

  70. Yes, I think I'm happy because I appreciate what life gives me. I do not look at material or emotional spheres. I am happy that everyone in my family is healthy, fulfills dreams and enjoys life. The universal tip to feel happy is to start to see small things that really rejoice. Stop looking for miracles, but appreciate the smallest gestures in life, and immediately you become more happy.

  71. I don’t think there are some universal tips that can make everybody happy. I believe that personal happiness depends on personality of a man. In my opinion the perception of our life as happy and feeling happy depend on your level of neuroticism. A person marked by high level of neuroticism is full of fears, sensitive to negative emotions, worried most of the time, is shy and takes care about other people’s opinions of him or her. Such a person thinks more about failure than successes and that’s why feels lower quality of life and is less happy then a person with low level of neuroticism.

  72. I definitely agree that happiness comes from within and it's dependant on our thoughts. I wouldn't say that I'm happy currently but if I would have to point out things that have made me happy in the past I would say positive thinking and love, but I also think sometimes these two can make you 'blinded' and contribute to being a little unrealistic, although often it might be a good thing... To be honest this year and the last one has been challenging for me and I'm more focused on 'surviving' and working on my goals, I don't 'chase','look' or 'wait' for happiness. Perhaps, I should be more careful with my thoughts but I also think that happiness is an effect of having a meaningful life, realizing your purpose and being certain that your potential is well used and helpful to others, and that's something that I'm working towards.
Do I think that there is some universal tip that can make people happy? Of course: being grateful for what you have, being present and enjoying the moment, working on your goal that is beneficial for others, doing what you love and taking cotrol over your own brain.

  73. Happiness is easy to find, but only if you know what are you looking for. For me, happiness isn't an one-time feeling, but it's a kind of a continuous state of mind. It means that even if you feel sad sometimes, you can say that you are still lucky, so sooner or later you will return to it. I think that I'm happy, but I'll be able to objectively look at it for a while.

  74. The article is about the happiness and some reasons for it. As the author says, happiness of people depends on their life goal. For some people happiness is strong health, for others – sport, children, career, and so on.
Maybe the happiness also depends on the period of peoples’ life. Different periods of life have different goals and the better a person dwell with his problems, the more happy he is.
To my mind, there is an approximately universal tip that can make people happy. First of all, it is the communication. People should have friends and communicate with them almost all the time. This makes people happy. On the second place there is support of friends and relatives. If there is a person who can help his friend in difficult times, the person feels much better and stops to worry about different problems faster.
In conclusion, I can say that the happiness of people depends on different factors. Every person has his individual reasons for happiness. Some fundamental needs and feelings should be satisfied to make a person happy.

  75. Question about happiness is really hard. There are some days when I fell so blessed and full of joy and others when I fell that bad that I don’t see a point of life. If I think about what makes me happy I would say – a good food and time with my friends. So the best option is to have a meal with people I like a lot. In my opinion there could be many universal tips about happiness. All depends of the person. For me it will be the rule that positive mind and thoughts brings positive situations and life.

  76. I personally claim that happiness is so undefined phenomenon that everybody has their own definition of happiness. There is a number of factors which can make people happy and all people has other expectations. On the whole, health is believed to be the most valuable and I totally agree with this statement. Medical problems hold everybody back from pursuing goals. Unfortunately, health is not appreciated by the time people suffer from disease. Undoubtedly, love is also greatly crucial. I am inclined to believe that solitude is frightening. Honestly, I am a happy person. Moreover, I have family that loves me much and beloved boyfriend. I wish I had not lose it.

  77. It's good if you are able to say - "I'm a happy person". I think beeing happy is far more than just a simple emotion - it's a style of living, a way to appreciate the world around you. In my case I've noticed one day that every time I'm going to university I'm passing a wonderful blooming tree with white flowers - something so simple, yet I never aprreciated it. Still to be happy you can't have major problems on your head. Nowadays people are always in hurry, they don't have time for themselves - that's why depression is such problem.

  79. It is a good question - ,,are you happy?". I think a lot of people do not have time to think about it. If we are talking about me - I am not happy, but I could be. I have what I have always wanted - I am studying on Warsaw University - it was my dream since kindergarten. I was really happy when I have found out that I got in! It was such a good news. Right now I know I can do more and I want more, I believe that happiness will come when I will succeed in something. I quess that is what makes people happy.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The first question is very interesting and difficult to answer as well. Honestly, I do not know if I am happy nowadays but I know that in several years, when my life will be more complicated I will be missing present time like now I would like to come back several years to the past. But of course, something makes me happy. I thing that a lot of duties make me happy. It is very difficult sometimes but finally I fell happy and satisfied after several exams etc. In my opinion the one way to happiness does not exist. It depends on particular person - one wants to have big family, for other the main life purpose is the newest Mercedes and I do not judge which option is better or makes more sense - it is every person's decision and each of us should respect it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. For me there is problem with word 'happiness', becasue I can say "I am happy in this moment', but (for me) there is no sense "I am happy generally'. Values which were written in the article are very essential and people don't think about them everyday if they are healthy etc. Hence happiness is state when somebody has not lack of something, what for me isn't intuitive.

    ReplyDelete
  82. How I see it, hapiness is this intangible concept whose core lies somewhere in that particular person's cognition and perception, and not an emotion or state to experience, unless we're taking about the most basic, little 'happy' we feel when something nice happens to us. Everyone has their own definition of hapiness and they strive to achieve it, while some still try to find what it means for them. For some, this little 'happy' I mentioned might be the best kind of hapiness, which is probably one of the better ways to live by.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hapiness is not a feeling but an attitude towards life. It’s a state of mind when you appreciate what you’ve got instead of focusing on bad things that happened to you. Small things are what make hapiness and I’m convinced that everyone has something that can bring him hapiness. We just need to find it. I’m concerned that a lot of people aren't able to do this in their lives and it’s visible even among young people. I think that I can say that I’m happy person. Of course, I have some problems like everyone, but I got a lot from life and I’m so grateful for that. I have family which give me suport and love, I have friends, I don’t have any serious diseases, I have some talents and I study at University of Warsaw, what is some achievement. I know that it's not easy to find happiness but I believe if we are working at our attitude, we will finally be happy.

  84. Happiness can be divided into short-term and long-lasting and I feel that I am happy in both areas. I am grateful for my life because it is peaceful, full of kind and loving people and organized. What makes me always happy is meeting my family and friends. I caannot also imagine life without music. It is said that music soothes manners and revive even very tense atmosphere.
My tip for everyone is "carpe diem". Catch every short moment, make dreams come true and do not let anything sadden you.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I am sfraid I cannot agree with the author, because I'm happy even though I am not religious, I'm an atheist in fact, and I do not to believe in anythin to be satisfied with my life. Things that make me happy are in fact some human contact, but I can also find happiness in being alone, and to me if you can find yourself happy when alone, it means that you're a happy person, who likes him/herself. I think that the universal tip may be to find yourself a thing you are good at and love to do and try to accept yourself as you are, then you'll not compare yoursefl to the others and will likely be satisfied.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I agree with the statement, that happiness means something different for everyone. I believe that I am a happy person, even if sometimes I feel stressed or down. I think there are a lot of things that make me happy like achieving successes, good music or spending time with people I am close to.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The question of whether I'm happy is very difficult at the moment. In my case, it all depends on how I'm doing. I have a loving family, a man and supportive friends, but like everyone else I expect more. I have set goals that, when fulfilled, make him feel happy. I don't know what advice I'd like to hear, I think every advice should be individual.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think I'm happy right know and it's because I can say I feel fulfilled. There's always something we could enhance but talking in general I have no reason to complain. For sure I feel happy when I have people I can rely on, I can involve into tasks, follow my dreams and desires. I just need to feel free, free to choose. For me it's the most vital matter in life. However, I wouldn't call it a universal thing. For sure we all need to be free but for some of us it may be not enough so everyone should look for their place where they can find happiness.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I am really happy right now - even if times are tough. Being close to the ones I love, them being healthy, doing what I really like - those things make me happy. I don't believe in "one universal tip for happiness" - I think that everyone should find his tip for happiness on his own.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Happiness is individual. Everyone knows what makes him happy or will find out in the future. I believe that all options may be correct, but for different people. We always try to make ourselves happy. I believe that common things for us is what we do. Our work or other type of activity that we can do all our life.
Health may not make us happy, but we begin to value it when we lose it. And to enjoy other things is difficult. and the last is People around us and Love

    ReplyDelete
  91. I feel I'm happy. I think it all about appreciate every moment in life. In my opinion people often forget about it. People should understand also bad moments in their life. It can really show some problems and learn us more. We should remember that nothing happens without a reason. Moreover I’m trying to look for positive aspects in every situation. Sometimes it is hard but it can help me in bad moments in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  92. It is really hard to be truly happy in life, since there will always be some upsetting factors, and there more there are, the less happy you are.I feel like the pursuit of happiness is based on eliminating these upsetting things, and since they are different for each person, there is no universal recipe for being happy, and we all have to find it on our own. However what works for me in terms of eliminating upsetting things is waking up with a thought that I am slightly a better person than I was yesterday. Even if the change is small, it's still a change. Especially if it's for the better.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
