Body language

Have you ever think about people's behaviour?
I will try to explain and understand some people’s behavior.

What is it?

It is kind of verbal communication, which instead of body posture, gestures and eye movements. We send this signals usulally subconsciously.

We are not aware but our body show how we feel and what we are thinking. Our parts of body can tell more than words. Also how we sit or stand may say something about our personality.

Ways to Improve Your Body Language
Examples of nonverbal behavior and theirs interpretation

'Don't cross your arm and legs'

Remember that crossing legs show that you're closing yourself off. Also crossing arms are a synonym of withdrawn. Always try to keep your arms and legs open.

'Have eye contact, but don’t stare'
When we talk with somebody, it's a really important to have an eye contact. People who are shy, have  a problem with it. If you look into somebody eyes, it means that you listening this person. Never stare because it is embarassing.

'Don’t touch your face'
It can show nervous! It can means also, that you are embarrassed or you ale not concerned on another person.

'Relax your shoulders '
Try to loosen up! Often when you are stressed you are also inflexible and uncomfortable. So try to shake your shoulders and relax!

This situation can be stressful for somebody! Every one should have personal space, so never invade it.
We can't predict what gestures of body language we might meet. Personaly, I thing that it's usefull to know, use and noticing them. You can always change your body language. It is not all hard work!

  1. In my opinion body language is very important and useful in communication, because we can understand better what is saying to us.
I had a situation, in which I could understand second peron pure and simple thanks to geastures and mimics, because I didn't know the language.
I suppose that openness towards others can be discernible in this way and make easier our relations with them.
If we express our feeling and emotions through the body language we will be better undarstand and we can achive what we want in every conversation.

  2. I agree that body language is very important. Firstly, it helps us to understand other people, to interpret their feelings which are not said. Secondly it is easier for us to express our feelings and opinions. We should be very careful about our body language because it may happen that we don't say anything but people have already known that we are nervous, worried or excited. It is also the way to show our respect to others so it is very important to remember about body language during for example job interviews. And of course it can be very useful while talking with foreigners in the language you completely don't know- you can always show what you want;)

  3. Of course that body language is something indispensable to fully understand other people, their emotions, feelings, thoughts. Each of us use of this kind of language unconsciously.
In fact, when we smile we are considered as a positive and nice people. It is important to look into our interlocutor's eyes. It means that we attract attention to what he says.
I like to sit with crossed legs so I don't think that it's a signal of closing yourself. It is only the comfortable position ;)
I know that we should not be the first to laugh at our own jokes. But sometimes I think that not everyone remember about it... :D

  4. I agree that body language is very important. Sometimes it expresses more than words. Gestures and facial expressions enhance verbal language, making it easier for us to understand the feelings, the emotions of others. I like observing people and nonverbal communication is a very interesting phenomenon for me. Often we don't control our body language, it can really show what we feel and what we don't want to disclose.

  5. I think that it is usefull presentation. I heard about it before, but I don't exactly belive in all of this tips. One year ago I used to watch a series - " lie to me". It was about a magic of body language. There, it works but in normal life i'm not sure if anyone care about it. Of course there are a lot of things which we should, but when we are nervous it's hard to control it.

  6. I agree that body languages is important. Especially when we come to other country and we don't know any languages. Of course we use our body language.
Sometimes, we see that somebody has a problem and we ask "What happened? or "Why you are sad?". We never ask "Are you sad? Because I am not sure that you are.".
Body language express more information about us than mere words: humour, attitude, some personality traits and of course, feelings. So it's mean that body language help us in communication.

  7. I learned this in college and all that is true. Body language is very often more important than what we are talking about. Our behavior, gestures, facial expressions can tell a lot about us for example if we are afraid, or lie, or be happy, or we know what we should do, or how to behave, etc.. If we learn to control properly over body, we can even manipulate other people. Awareness of one's own body and knowledge what mean our gestures is very helpful.

  8. I think body language can show everything about us in the moment but also at all. You can make a conclusion how somebody is like, by his behaviour, if he is opened or not. optimistic or pesimistic etc. I think bpdy language is important in private and business situations. We need to control our body but fell comfortable. It is important especially for public persons like politicians.

  9. The body language is used for example by politicians. It's abused by them. The ideal example was Andrzej Lepper. I think that everybody knows who was Lepper. He was 'created' by Piotr Tymochowicz, specialist of image. Andzrej Lepper's success relied almost only on sociotechnical tricks like controlling of body language (the famous 'hand pyramid'). So we can control our body language, so it's not really credible way of know person. Anyway, I like sit with crossed legs and it's not a signal that I'm closing yourself off. It's comfortable position for me, that's it.

  10. I am skeptical to the techniques of body language. Everyone says that works and could show what we think. However have you ever seen any publication of respectable scientist? I am not sure that if i cross my hands it means immediately that i am closing myself off or someone will think in this way about me. Maybe many of this tricks were developed by unemployed psychologist who want to sell their books and people are repeating this gossips without rethinking.

  11. This is my favorite presentation!!! I'm really interested in this topic, i am watching tv series "lie to me" and this is film about techniques of body language. Our body language can show things which you want to hide. What is more sometimes it can help us in better communication, you can not control your body language. Our gestures, facial expressions are the same no matter where we come from. for example when we are surprised we raise our eyebrows and our eyes became bigger.

Thanks the body lenguage we can show our emotion or feelings, sometimes we can use words to describe our thoughts so the body lengauge probably can helps us in this kind of situation. Body lengauge can shows a positive or negative attitiude so if we want to hide our negative emotion we should be very careful. Moreover, body lengauge can bring about a lot of joy among our friends:)

  13. I think that this presentation is very useful. Always when we are talking with other person we should think about this rules. Especially when we want to get a job and we have some interview. Then our potential superior look at us and evoluate us. Nowadays this language is very important.

  14. How to make your legs open when you've got very important meeting and you have to wear two-piece dress and high-heels? Smart woman should sit with crossed legs (or 'leg to leg'). But, anyway, I think that it presentation is really interesting and there is a lot of truth in this. We all use body language even we don't know about it. And maybe is the time to learn how to make a good impression.

  15. Body language it is not only ability of human communication. In my opinion it is one of way to show emotions and feelieng. We are ashamed our true feeling very often, so we aren't toking about it. In our life we can find a lot of situations, when we would say somethig, but we feel shamed. However our body ,,talk" for us, and show our reaction, even we worry to talk about it.

  16. I think that body language is just as important as spoken language. With its help we express even more emotion than usual. We use it unconsciously. Why it's good that everyone knows something about the body language.

  17. I have recently read a book about body language "Mowa ciała" of Pease. I could learn about reading many sign of our body language, but the main thought of the book is - "Never try to read only one expression of the body". Our mind combine every expressios, and sometimes we can control our body not to show true emotions. When you are reading someone, try to catch a sign that doesn't match the other - the interlocutor is lying then.

  18. I think our comminication will be disrupt without using body language. I watched a movie about body language and psychologists had told there the body language signs are true and we can reveal our natural, real face. For example head of the company want to hire a new worker. Boss can see new worker's gestures and after the meeting he can decode new worker face and limbs movements. It can be helpful in making decisions.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
