Motivation

Different ways of motivation

Every time, when we set ourselves a goal, we have to face the problem of motivation.  We can motivate ourselves, but we motivate other people as well. There could be truly wonderful plans or ideas, but without proper motivation to putting them into effect, they are worth nothing. We could notice it in history itself, every major event caused by men need motivation(or at least luck). Without it, the great people would not take any actions, but stay at home instead and just wondering, what would that be, if they did something. But it is also seen in every single goal, even the simplest one
For example, we would never prepare our food without the motivation, which is hunger.

Motivation is closely connected to emotions or reflexes. It could be basic, like minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure, or more complex like achieve something and spread an idea(but let be honest, there is a pleasure connected to that). In most cases there is a vision of reward, or vision of the end of a punishment, or obviously both(like famous “carrot and stick”).

Whenever we are supervised, in a work place or school for example, we are constantly motivated by the system of rewards and penalties. In school those are grades, in work the number on your paycheck and bonuses(back in the past, in both there were also physical punishments as well).
Good teachers are those, who inspire their students to get interested in the subject and motivate them to work hard for their own good. Managers, on the other hand, are good, when they can motivate their co-workers to work hard for the good of a company(and the less money they promise to them in bonuses, the more money they receive. That is their motivation).

A level of motivation generally depends on our emotional involvement. When you are strongly engaged in the project and share a common goal, then it is much easier to force yourself to action.
It is not easy to receive a full commitment, but this is not the only problem with motivation. A lack of motivation could be caused by diseases or drugs. Depression is the major cause of the lack of willingness to act. Drugs and narcotics increases the sense of powerlessness. Trauma after unpleasant events is usually forces us to suspend any operations.

And what about you? What do you do, when you have to motivate yourself? Have you ever had bigger problem with it? How do you motivate people you know to take action? And what do you think is the best motivator?

  1. For me the best motivation is when the deadline is going. I always promie that I'll do what I have to earier, but I doesn't works. I hate it!
But if I like something, I can do it earlier, precisely and without talking myself: 'you are stiupid, you don't have time!' ;)

  4. I have never had any problems with my motivation for work. I think it is connected with that I always try to pick only those activities which are connected with my interests.
I am unfortunately very lazy person, but when I know I have to work I simply do it. I spend 5 minutes a day to think about my day's plan, what I have to do and how long it will last. Everyday I find about an hour to relax, because it is necessary when I have to work a lot. Many people don't think this way and then they just have a lot more work to do, because they left things to be done later.
My motivator is "Don't left work to be done later, because then you have to work more".

  5. Personally, I think that the best motivation is deadline :). I cant study many days before exam but 1 day before. However if there is any interesting subject for me and which I like to learn, there is no problem. But I agree with the author that the teacher can also motivate us. It depends how : by being very friendly or rigor.

  6. Sometimes I have problems to motivate myself. If I don't have a choice and I have to do something I will do it eventually. For example when I have a deadline. I think it's easier to motivate other people than ourselves. There exist many ways of motivation. One of them is an award or a privilege. But for most of population basic motivation is to have a well balanced standard of life.

  7. Everybody sometimes have a problem with motivation I think. But if we know that something must be done, we do this even before deadline! It is hard to say how find the best way of motivation because everybody have his own method. Usually I thinking for long time which i must do and after that i just do it! Of course it also depend of my personal interesting, if i like a subject i don t need any motivation;)

  8. It's hard to motivate me to do things which I really don't care. This is not good because these things then collect a lot and you have to do everything at the last moment.
I do not have any problems with the motivation for the important things for me. It depends on our attitude to the matter.

  9. I admit that, unfortunately, I have a weak incentive system. I always get down to work or study at the last moment, when the deadline, test or exam is approaching. The worst part is that sometimes do not realize how much I have to learn the material or work to be done. Then everything is adding up and I'm just not able to do everything. Shame on me for this, but for 19 years I could not change it, so I stopped the fight and accept the fact that there are days when I'm doing nothing, and days when I work for two or more.

  10. Motivation is one of the most important elements to success. If they do not build in a sense of duty and need to do some things that no form of outwardly aid does not work. It is we ourselves are the best agents that stimulate to action.

  11. In my opinion sometimes each of us have a problem with motivation.
In my case the motivation depends on puropose.
I always try to think positive and do what I can.
Motivation helps us and gives us an opportunity to achieve the success.
Even if we are convinced that goal is difficult the motivation should gives us the strenght.
I agree with the statement that we are motivated by the system of rewards and penalties but not only.
One of the essential factors of motivation is or are our dreams, interests and success.
I always try to motivate my friends by giving them the inspiration and showing what they can achieve if only they want and I also can rely on them.

  12. Maybe to motivate ourself is enought to see only advantages of our "problem". Main problems usually are studing and work. We only can get not lose something trough studing for example knowledge which is necessary to get a good job and earn enough money for us. As we know money provide safe. I think when somebody isn't motivatated to work maybe he/she should change a job and after should chceck is he/she still unmotivated.

  13. In my opinion the best way to motivate is involved in the action.

Also a good way is to remind the stories of people who inspire me. Often, a well-known characters - their obstinacy and hard work - can motivate me more than anything.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
