PACKAGE HOLIDAYS VS. INDEPENDENT TRAVEL

Holidays. It's a special time that everybody needs. But people are different so ways of spending holidays to. We can distinct two general ways. I mean package holidays and holidays on your own- backpacking. Let see it closer.

PACKAGE HOLIDAYS

This is very well organised way of spending holidays. Travel agency makes all formalities for you, so you don't have to worry about looking for hotels, restaurants, planes and other things. You just need to choose place, term, some extra attractions and of course you pay for it. Very common is all inclusive offer, it means that you pay more but you can use everything in hotel without restrictions. I think that this is very common among people who are very busy and they don't have time to plan everything on their own. Their life is very fast and on holidays they just want to take a rest. This is why they choose big hotels with swimming pools, restaurants, discos and everything what they need, so they don't need to get their noses out of the hotel.
I think that this isn't a sense of travelling. I also want to go on some package holidays but I think that connecting one week of sightseeing and one week of laying on the beach is the best solution. If we're travelling we should just a little want to know new culture, visit monuments , meet people, because if we want to forget about our everyday life we must experience some adventures.

BACKPACKING

However for people who are hungry for adventures we have different way of spending holidays. When you're going on holidays on your own you can organise everything. You aren't limited about anything. You can choose places, hotels, means of transport and it's cheaper than travel agency.
It gives you chance to know the country just the way it is and also meet very interesting people that aren't always so nice like in hotel where you pay them for it, but they are sincere. It can broaden your mind and gives you a lot of experience. Backpacking it's a very common way among young people, especially students. They have a lot of free time and they don't need to feed a family so they can take a risk of that kind of travelling. For elderly people it looks like dangerous holidays but I think that it won't be if we have just a little responsibility and trust for each other. I think in such journey we can see more, learn more and experience more. It gives us unforgettable moments for the rest of our life.
Some people don't take much money for such trip and their want fate to lead them. If they don't have money they can earn some or did like Mr. Beans did ;)

Some questions for you:
Which kind of spending holidays is better for you? Do you have any experience with package holidays or independent travel ?

Comments

  1. I like the same package holiday and independent travel. I like lazy vacation so much but active vacation are good for me too :) If I want to rest a lot, don't worry about money, I will go on package holiday. I don't have to do nothing - only relaxing, going to pubs, going to beach. But it last only 1 week, the best time for laziness. Sometimes I prefer going on backpacking holiday. You can see what you want, you can go where you want. You can live amazing adventure and I think it is the best in this kind of holiday :)

  2. I only have an experience with independent travel, it seems a better solution for me. I think that independence has a big value for everyone, I could do what I want in each moment. I needn't keep an eye on timetable or listen to the guide. I'm aware that travels should also develop our knowledge about the world but I may realize this on my own. However I have good memories about my school excursions which were organised by parents and teachers. But now I prefer individual travel in order to keep privacy and have an absolute freedom in making decisions.

  3. I have never been on package holiday. My family has always organized independent trips and I like the freedom that I have when I travel this way. I think that package holiday does not allow you to visit the country properly. It is a great opportunity when you want to get some rest but otherwise I think that you should organize a trip yourself. The main advantage of independent holiday is that you schedule depends on your decision - you can change your plans when the weather is bad or when some places are not as much interesting as they seemed to be.

  4. I think both independend and package holidays have a lot of advantages. For me, everything what is called 'travel' means really great time. But if I have to choose one it would be independent travels because I like sightsee unkown places when I am abroad. Everytime during travel, I'd like to have first-hand experience of culture of this place. So, backpacking is the best solution. You don't have any deadlines, schuedule, you can do what you want and you can go sightseeing there where you really want.

  5. I've only have expierience with package holiday. And I think that there are ok. Nothing special. It is really convinient that you don't have to plan anything, only pay, pack yourself ang go. But in the future I think i try independent holidays. I have been on too many package holiday so it is time to do something different.

  6. I actually travel very rarely. The last time I was on extended vacation in junior high school and it was a week's stay at the Polish seaside with my cousin family. You could say that they were independent holiday because accommodation, food and attractions were organized by my uncle. Then I was young so I didn't pay too much attention and overall I liked it. However, if I had to go abroad, I would choose only package holidays through a travel agent. To me it is more convenient, except that I like how everything is well organized in advance. In addition, I prefer to spend holidays at the beach than sightseeing or something like that, so I think it is a better form of organization of holidays for me.

  7. I have experience with both type of travelling.I think that it's depends on our aim of travel and especially on ours expectations, what type of travel we choose. When I was younger I was used to package holidays, but when I grow up I had a few independant travels. In my opinion, independant travels give us more adventures. We have more "space" to meet new people, visit interesting places, etc. We aren't keep away from local people. It's ideal kind of travelling for those who are adventurous.Package holidays are ideal for family with little children or people who enjoy spending time in hotels. They can lying on the beach and drinking. We have nothing to worry about, because everything we have orginased. It's hard to say. For me both kind of travelling have pros and cons. The most important is to have fun and relax.

  8. Package holidays and own- backpacking have a lot of advantages. I think in package holidays we only book a place in beautiful hotel with restaurant and different kinds of entertainment. But when we decide on own - backpacking, we have a lot of to do. However planning a holliday give me joy. I can see what I want and I can be there how long I want. I prefer spending my holliday actively. I like take a rest on beach, but only 2 days. I love recognise a new place and take a photos.

  9. For me both kinds of spending holidays are great. I have one funny experience with package holidays. When we finally arrived at the hotel we found out that it was mistake in their system and there are no free rooms so they moved us to amazing 4 stars hotel which was much better :)
I think if you want to go on holidays abroad and relax safer is package holidays. You don't have to worry about anything, with all the doubts you can go to resident and ask for everything. If you choose holidays in your country definitely I prefer holidays on my own, because this is a great adventure. You decide about everything, you can go everywhere and be there how long you want.

  10. I prefer traveling on my own. I used to go on packing holiday when I was younger usually with classmate and our teachers who were organizers of this trips. We didn’t embrace the help of any travel agent and we was quite big group so it was usually cheap, it was the biggest, if not only one, advantage. There was no time for any relax, we have just run from one monument to another. In high school I tried travel on my own with small group of close friends and it turned out to work much better. I like being independent, so where if not on holiday?

  11. I've never been on a package holiday. It’s not for me. I love to see a lot of the place, some sights that I have read about but never saw before, and just experiences of the place (like riding the tube or a bus) that I always want to do when travelling.

  12. I definitely prefer backpacking to package holidays for various reasons. I think everyone feels different places in his own way and so I like trying what feels appropriate in certain moments. I enjoy improvising and catching the spirit of a place I'm visiting. Sometimes it's better to just walk along the streets and watch people and the whole place from a simple point of view or just call by some random cafe or pub. Then of course I can always drag a guide-book and check the recommended places.

  13. Just like everyone I like both lazing and adventure. Unfortunately I've got a bad memories about package holidays. My beloved and I have planned 2 weeks on Mallorka we've paid in advance. Few weeks before departure I called travel agency to get some details about our tour and I found out that the company which were supposed to organise our holidays had failed. Fortunately my boyfriend is the best in the world and he bought another one trip to the same place (but it is a pity that we have to wait for our money for 1.5 year).
I've watched a video about backpacking and in my opinion that guy is so cool. I would like to have so much energy and power to explore whole world as enthusiastically as he did.

  14. It’s hard for me to say what kind of holiday is better for me because I don’t travel a lot. But I’m rather independent person and I like planning everything on my own so I think better option for me would be independent travel. I think it’s much more interesting to travel in this way because you can discover such places that aren’t in the guidebook. Travel independent is also more unpredictable and everything could happen. You can have wonderful adventure which will be in your memory forever.

  15. I prefer much more independent holidays. For me it's just much more fun to do things I want and organise tour by myself. I don't feel well having everything planned, it's much better to do things spontaneously in my opinion. I don't like package holidays at all and not gona go on them until I get old. Young= doing everything you want (what is legal) = fun. It's my point of view.

  16. I definitely prefer to spend my holidays in backpacking travels. Generally I have never used offers of any travel agency, but for me it was enough package tours with class in school. In my opinion, organization of vacation can be a part of your holiday. And I want to mentioned that there is so big pleasure to open a new culture, compare her with your own, try to understand another people and notice that everywhere people are the same. I think that travel agencies have nothing to propose you :)

  17. Obviously I prefer independent travelling than package holiday. In my opinion lying on the beach with a drink in a hand is simply boring. Once when I was on this kind of holiday in Egypt I thought to myself 'never again!'. From that tour I have'nt got any intresting memories. So I decided to organise holiday on my own. And it works! Last vacation I spent with my girlfriend in Georigia and this time she planed everything. Not only were we sight seeing lot of monuments, but also meat native people and went to the parties with them. It was really great experience to make everyday decision where we go and what we do. If you choose package holiday, you don't have a chance to choice. And of course you don't have any brilliant story to tell after travel!

  18. For me the most important during holidays is to be independent, so I don't prefer independent holidays. I never used any offerts from travel agencys, except one time when I was flying to Barcelona and some informations about real conditions of their hotels were hidden. When I go on holidays on my own, I have no limits of visiting places, meeting people, eating in the local caffes and what's the most important, I'm free without any deadlines.

  19. Personally I prefer lying on the beach or maybe playing on beach ball or volleyball. My room must have an air condition and tv sat. To be honest I have never used an offer from travel agency. My travells were always planned by myself. Why? It`s simple - I can go everywhere I want to and do anything I want to do. Of course it might be a little bit more expensive than package holiday in the same conditions but that`s my way of spending spare time during summer.

  20. I think independent holiday are better for people who are experienced in travelling. I prefer independent holiday than package holiday because it is cheaper. I can sightsee what I want and I can spend time in my way. In my opinion people on package holiday see just boring places, monuments. During holiday I need relaxing on the beach. Yes, I have experience with package holidays. I went on holiday to Sopot with my sister two years ago. The weather was awful, food was disgusting and I get food-poisoning. It was the terrible holidays in my life.

  21. So far I was on package holidays only when I was a child. That time my parents sent me to the Baltic Sea with an organised group of people and they didn't have to worry about anything. I recall this time with a lot of good memories, I couldn't complan. However, when I grown up, I started to appreciate my independace and since 2008 I've been choosing only self-organised trips. Nevertheless I think that both are quite good but it depends on who are going for a trip and with whom and what is our budget or how busy we are. We just have to take some arguments into consideration and choose the best compromise.

  22. I always share my holiday between 2 parts. First, I spend 1 month with my family. We usually go to some hot countries and we are doing a package holiday. I'm not the biggest follower of such solution but my parents are quite old so they don't feel like jumping around the world with a backpack :D But then , after 1 month, comes a better part. My friends and I make a "trip-plan", and we establish which countries/places we are going to visit. Then we are looking for cheat flight or trains. When transport is done , we are heading to accomodation, looking for cheap hostels etc. It's really exciting because with the knowledge of other languages we can travel around the world. I'm the follower of independent travel because I organise everything by myself !

  23. I' ve been only on package holidays I like it because it is very relaxing and gives strenght to another year but I'm bored I like laying on the beach and swimming in the see but I want to be more independent so in the future I want to go on backpacking trip with my firends from study. I think that Eurotrip could be great fun.

  25. I prefer organize holidays by my own because it gives me a lot of pleasure. It is a first part of adventure if I must call to different country and for example organize overnight stay or whole accommodation. And after all arrangements when I finally reach my destination and everything is going right I have huge satisfaction that I had done it.

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need different progr
THE MOST TRUSTED  PROFESSIONS Many people say that their job is important for our society, but is it a trustworthy profession? A market research institute asked people about trustworthy professions. Here you will find its results. The Top Five Most Trusted Professions 1. Firefighters A 2009 poll conducted by market research institute GfK found that firefighters ranked as the most trusted profession in Europe and the United States with 92 percent of respondents fining them trustworthy. Perhaps it’s all in the job description—being required to step into the face of danger every time you head out for an assignment is not just admirable, it’s downright heroic. 2. Teachers In the same GfK poll that lauded firefighters, teachers ranked second with 83 percent. It’s a good sign considering that the people responsible for crafting the minds of our children are deemed trustworthy. “I think every teacher recognizes that they are part of a trusted profession—that parents

Does money spoil people?

Does money spoil people? There is a saying that ‘money spoils people’, which means that people who become rich also start being rude and nasty. Is this true or not? I do not like categorize people, all stories are different. Probably everyone knows someone who is rich and nice person, and someone who is wealthy and horrible…What can determine behaviour of these people? copyright:http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/money.jpg 1 .     First of all how they got their money. Some people are rich because they won the lottery and some of them because they are genius who made a discovery of new, brilliant solution. There are also ones who are rich because they inherit all wealth from their ancestors… It is not a rule, but I think that people who work hard for everything what they have are more stable and realistic than ones, who don’t need to do anything because they got everything for free (without dedication or hard work). They won’t probably understand
