Polish emigrants.

Emigration from Poland starts to be pretty big problem, mainly because of type of migrating people. Mostly the young people after studies are going away from our country, so we'll be under influence of process called
Typical polish emigrant.
"brain drain". It sounds awful and it actually is awful, for our country. Well educated, young and full of invention people are running away from Poland, so statistically whole country is getting less educated.

What is more, we are getting older and older as society, what is causing many problems. One of the worst effects of this is problem with retired people who are getting smaller retirement bonuses. Our retirement fund is running out of money, so we probably won't get enough payment to live!

Where do Polish migrate?
Map of Polonia in whole world.

  • United States of America - about 10 milions of people with polish roots
  • Germany - about 2 millions of Polish
  • Brazil - nearly 2 millions
  • France -  about million
  • Canada - nearly million of Polish people

What can we do to prevent youth from running away?

The answer is suprisingly easy - we have to change our country. Without improving living conventions we won't stop emigration - it's simple and clear. Who will be going abroad when we will have nice goverment with low taxes, better health care, better roads etc? No one except travellers ;)

Point to discuss:

1. Would you emigrate from Poland? Why? Why not?
2. What are your ideas to "repair" this situation?

  1. I prefer to stay in Poland when I finished my studies. But I understand people who want to go away. This is caused by economic factors. The young people want live in a certain-standard. Unfortunately, in Poland, not everyone has the chanse to do. But why I want to stay? I can't leave my parents, my friedns. I do not have high demands of life. I only want live honestly and make money on own needs. I'm not afraid to work.

How to repair this situation? Continuous development, loans for young, and combat with unemployment. Or something like that.

  2. I don't like to live in Poland. I am really tired. This country is ill. Full of hypocrisy, unhappiness, and bad will, especially nowadays in the capitalistic reality. Work and people are not a value. I would like to emigrate but it is not so easy in my profession but I can change profession. Here is so expensive and polish wages are really funny.
How to repair that situation? It is a mental problem, we should change our way of thinking, our behaviour and priorities, we should stop lie. We should emigrate, travel and learn how to be nice and wise Human, not only good Polish man.

  3. Would I like to get out of Polish? It depends on the conditions which will offer me the country. If I find satisfying work here, then yes, I would like to live here. I love to travel, sitting on a suitcase is no problem for me, but I do not know if one day I would not stay in a some place permanently. It's difficult to determine today, I am too young.

How to solve the problem of emigration? I have no idea. All I can say is that the politics of this country are not encouraged to pay taxes. I do not want to donate money here to ZUS, which by the time of my retirement to do with them ... well, what?

Single-sex education

A little bit of history Single-sex education was traditional and dominating form of education till 19th century. Almost all schools and universities were single sex, which in almost all cases meant – men’s schools. This situation started to change because of two reasons: emancipation of women (fight for equality) and introduction of massive education. The first mixed-sex boarding school in UK was formed in 1818, it was Scottish Dollar Academy, and in 1878 the first university- University College London, allowed women  to enter on equal terms with men. What is interesting, the first Cambridge collage, which admit men and women was founded only on  1964. Pros and cons The topic of single-sex education is quite controversial. Like always there are pros and cons, some of them are quite irrational, other have a scientific background. The most popular arguments for single-sex education: 1. Boys and girls are learning in the different way, so they need differ...
