Poles abroad

Nowadays living and working abroad is something  natural. Almost in every family is a person who went abroad to find a better life. What is the favorite destination of Polish citizens? The answer is obvious:  Great Britain!  As the official statistics shows  in 2012, there were nearly 700,000 immigrants.Their work there is very heavy.For now most of them are blue-collar workers. However, young poles already brought up in England. That's why soon poles also occupy better jobs. Obviously this is not the only one country which they are leaving to. Every year numbers of Poles in Germany, Norway, Denmark and Sweden is growing. Currently in Germany is 500 000 Poles, in Norway 65 000 (increased by 44%f from 2010), and 43 000 in Denmark. In addition, Italy (88 000) and the Netherlands are still an important destination especially for seasonal work. In the past USA were favorite but since joining the European Union all changed. Now the Poles can legally work in the whole European Union.

Wage discrimination or not?

Data from the Central Statistical Office show that women on average receive about 20 % less pay than men. The average men earns 4248 zł gross , that is 3026 zł net . In turn, the average women earns 3541 zł gross , that is 2533 zł net . An analysis of the average salary in the so-called 'great' occupational groups shows that in the case of office workers , the average salary for men is 2320 zł net , and for women in 2277 zł . For example, in the group of " experts" men on average earn about 1 thousand . zł net more . However, for this group we include both teachers and developers . The teaching profession is virtually feminized , while among the better -paid male-dominated programmers . Contrary to appearances, the differences did not blurred in the case of lower-paid positions , such as men employed in elementary occupations earn an average of 1,856 zł net , and women almost 400 zł less. They did things that may seem a little strange, very original or just stupid. Below I present five stories how people made money in a really weird ways. 1. “Buy my face” Ross Harper and Ed Moyse after graduating from Oxford University realized that they had a lot debts to pay off. They decided to sell their faces as an advertising space. They started with friends who had been painting slogans at boys’ faces. For the day with the advertisement on their face they took one pound, now they can charge even over 400 pounds. They photograph their painted faces and put it on web page, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
